Thread: How about the Worst song you ever heard?

    Anything by Shania Twain

I HATE Shania Twain's music! She's very pretty, yes, and her voice is okay (in a sort of lounge singer way; though she's no Patsy Cline) but her song lyrics are insipid! I especially HATE that song, not sure of the title, with the refrain, "Man, I feel like a woman...." ACK!!!!

I also HATE "Stuck with You" by Huey Lewis and the News! "Yes, it's true, yes, it's true, I'm so happy to be stuck with you...." Gosh, Huey, weren't you just the Cole Porter of the 80s? NOT!

American Pie by Don McLean - I hate that FUCKIN' song!

I was at an indoor charity flea market/garage sale in Austin today and they were playing music from the 60's/70's over the intercom system, and that damn song come on and people were singing along to it around me - talk about fuckin' torture! It's amazing I didn't run out there!

But I had some shopping to do...

Really nice selection of dogshit (I like that adjective, Curtis!) music here!

My alltime worst is "Never Been to Me" too, and they still play that shite here.

"Leather and Lace" can still put me off my lunch.

    Anything by Celine Dion.

    "This Kiss This KISS!"

"You're Beautiful" by James Blunt. Fookin contradictory lyrics. First he says "I've got a plan," then he whines that "I'll never see you again." Which is it, buttmunch? Dipsh*t.

disco is actually not that bad, depending on what disco song it is. I agree disco duck and rubberband man are sucky songs, as well as many others. I do happen to like Ring my bell by Anita Ward, and a few Chic songs. I guess I would have had to live in that era. I was born in 1980, and I think a lot of todays music sucks!

This is for the real "old timers" here. The youngsters have only seen 45 records; well...maybe never; probably about as often as rotary phones...

anyway; I think it was the 45 single of John Lennon's "Instant Karma"; that on the "B" side had Yoko's "Who Has Seen The Wind".

OMG! I know that love is blind; but it must be thourghly deaf as well. What was John thinking???

I searched for a link on YouTube; but you are fortunate. I did not find one.

    I hate:

Anything by Laura Brannigan, especially "Gloria" and "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" as it sounds like she's straining her voice & screaming the songs

That Paula Cole song "I Don't Wanna Wait;" what kind of fracking piss-poor rhyme scheme is "open up your morning light, say a little prayer for I??"

I hate "This Kiss", "MacArthur Park," and that stupid country song "Honky-Tonk Bodonkadonk" because it's the stupidest made up word I've ever heard.

Haven't read this whole thread so pardon me if this is a repeat, but Muskrat Love by Captain and Tenille. A small sampling of the lyrics.....

Nibbling on bacon, chewin on cheese
Sammy says to susie honey, would you please be my missus?
    And she say yes
    With her kisses

And now hes ticklin her fancy
    Rubbin her toes
Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes
As they wriggle, and sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
    Singin and jingin the jango
    Floatin like the heavens above
    It looks like muskrat love

La da da da da ...

Funny, I would have said that too a few years ago, but lately I've been kinder to certain things I remember from the 70s. The harmonies in that one are lovely. The other "bad" song I like is "Precious and Few".....beautiful!
