Frank Sinatra

what forum could be complete without Frank Sinatra. I remember in my teens driving to Wendover Nevada "about 90 minutes from Salt Lake" my friend and I would go with his mom and we would listen to Frank and make fun of him. Who knew 25 years later I would appreciate his talent!

But do you remember Lee Mortimer? He was a reporter for the New York Mirror...Anyway one time Frank Punched him! Legend has it Frank Pissed on Mortimers grave???

Putting it past Frank I would not be surprised!!!

I guess Mortimer Published crap about Sinatra and his Mafia ties!!!

I heard Mia Farrow interviewed on the Howard Stern show. She said that when the Woody Allen/Soon-Yi episode went down, Frank called Mia and offered to have Woody's legs broken. Mia said she thought that was sweet.

Frank knew how to swing baby. One of my favorite quotes about Frank is by Jeanne Martin (Mrs. Dino). She said, "Frank put the third o in coool".

I guess during the Ronald Regans first inauguration Frank wasnâ??t invited and I guess just pushed the secrect service out of the way and took someones seat at the inauguration. I mean the secret
service was afraid to mess with this guy!
I guess he had a lot lawsuits filed against him due to his anger. Problem is he would either settle in private or victims would get threatening phone calls and were so afraid of Frank they would drop the lawsuits.
Hate him or like him Frank made a major impact in music! He was the man!

Kitty Kellys book "His Way" is a must read!

Frank at one point got into a fistfight with Dominick Dunne. I think it was at The Daisy? nightclub? I read that in something Mr. Dunne wrote, I believe.

Love Kitty Kelly's book, what dish!

He also got in fight with someone at a restaurant and the guy almost died. I guess he knew they would possibly charge him with murder...the guy lived.

At one point Dean Martin said he didn't know anything but one time he told a reporter "yeah I know what happened". Dean was there.

At one point Sammy was on Franks shit list.

So does anyone know if he really pissed on that guys grave???

Frank

I remember reading in a Judy Garland book, I don't remember which one because there are so many, that Judy was frustrated because Frank liked to get blown so much that he wouldn't do the deed with her therefore, she would always get left holding the short end of the stick, so to speak.

IIRC, Frank and Nancy had a little history before Ron was in the picture.

It was said that Nancy gave the best head in Hollywood.

Frank was so nice!

Glen Campbell performs as a session musician for "Strangers in the Night." Sinatra inquires: "Who is the fag guitar player?"

I finally found a broad I can cheat on." Commenting on wife Mia Farrow

After a scuffle with reporters at the Melbourne Australia airport, Sinatra later describes the journalists as "bums," "parasites," "hookers," "pimps," and "a bunch of fags."

"Get your hand off the suit, creep." To House Speaker Sam Rayburn, at the Democratic National Convention, as Rayburn requested Sinatra sing The Yellow Rose of Texas.

i believe ava gardner noted he was a skinny little shrimp, but 90% of him was dick.

frankie was the last of the pack to appear on What's MY Line? only after dorothys demise, and he fairly took the show over, with he and mia sharing a spot as panelists, after he was the first mystery guest.

Frank use to own the Cal-Neva Casino in Incline Village NV. It was a known mob hang out. We all know he lost his gaming license. I met many men at Lake Tahoe who had lived there all their life. They hated him. More than one guy told me the same story. Frank would see a good looking woman in the casino or in the audience and he would send his goons out to bring her back to meet him. The husband had to wait outside. He used to love to humiliate them. He had a long underground tunnel from a house to the casino that he used to get in and out. I guess he poked a lot of married women. One man decided to pop old Frank with a .308 and waited in the snow just up the mountain. Korean War vet it was. He made the mistake of telling someone who called the casino. I guess Frank quit doing it after he almost got dusted.

Just read "Sinatra ,The Life" by Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan a very interesting book some great stories in it Frank came close to being on FAD after his involvement in John Kennedy's pres' campaign after using his connection with Chicago crime boss and friend Sam Giancana in securing the Chicago primary i think you guys call it in the US thinking Kennedy would backoff of Organised crime but did the opposite and gave Bobby Kennedy, who hated the mob, the Attorney Generals job which made certain people very very unhappy with Frank so he was a very worried man for a time back then and yes there is a reference in the book to his um onelongdong!

Did it mention the Australia incident?

After a scuffle with reporters at the Melbourne Australia airport, Sinatra later describes the journalists as "bums," "parasites," "hookers," "pimps," and "a bunch of fags."

I heard the unions would not even send up room service to Frank until he apologized! Or refuel his Gulfstream jet as well. He was like stuck in Australia.

And those guy used to DRINK. One of Robert Mitchum's grandsons said he used to tell them all kinds of crazy stories about his life in Hollywood. He would talk for a while then pour a water glass full scotch and drink it down like it was water and continue his story.

I couldn't find any reference to that in the book It was actually a few months back that i read it but I'm sure it'd be in there but yeah that happened it was big big news here at the time as u could imagine he called some female journo a 2 bit hooker or something to that effect so that went down well. It was the night "Ol' Blue Eyes" was black. Back in 1974, unions put a black ban on Frank Sinatra for making disparaging remarks about female journalists in Australia. It turned into a national crisis, and is now the subject of a new film, The Night We Called It A Day , starring Dennis Hopper as the famous crooner ...

Did you check Kitty Kelly's book? she goes into detail about it.

So when is this movie coming out about Frank?

I can't wait to see it. The one they did for TV years ago was done by his daughter so they buried up the dirt!

Frank Sinatra Helped Name Scooby Doo!!

About the song "Strangers in the night":

One of the features most recognized with the song is Sinatra imitating the melody again with the syllables "doo-be-doo-be-doo", as the track fades to the end. This inspired the name for the cartoon canine

Pretty cool!!!

I remember a story I heard on Letterman a while back. I can't remember who the guest was, but he was telling a story about Frank. He was telling of the story that him and Frank were at a bar somewhere late at nite having a few drinks. This woman comes in and asks the bartender if they had a jukebox so her and her friends could listen to music. The barkeep said they didn't and Frank pipped up that he could sing for them. The woman, having no idea who she was talking to, just kinda rolled her eyes and left. Man I would have loved to had The Voice singing for me.

Ironically, this same Sam Giancana was a good friend of my uncle Joe. Of course no one in the family talked much about it, half the family went into the "association" and the other half chose not to. My particular branch of the family chose not to and to this day the other half doesn't speak to us. No great loss.

Frank with Mob leaders.

Frank claims they all just showed up at once for the picture. They used this picture during Franks hearing when he tried obtain a nevada gaming license.

They wanted to show how friendly Frank was with the mob.

Frank looks pretty damn happy to me!

Frank was a very generous and charitable man and the bulk of this generosity will never see the light of day since he did it without fanfare or publicity(unlike, for example, creepy slob-nerd bill gates).

Also, Frank was said to be horse-hung (also unlike creepy slob-nerd bill gates)!

Then he turned into a Republican and supported Nixon and Reagan.

This song was recorded by Frank and his Daughter Nancy in the 60's, kind of disburbing if you ask me???

Sounds more like they were lovers??

*************************************

"Something Stupid"

I know I stand in line until you think you have the time to spend an evening with me.
And if we go some place to dance I know that there's a chance you won't be leaving with me.
Then afterwards we drop into a quiet little place and have a drink or two.
And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like "I love you."

I can see it in your eyes that you despise the same old lies you heard the night before.
And though it's just a line to you, for me it's true and never felt so right before.

I practice every day to find some clever lines to say to make the meaning come true,
But then I think I'll wait until the evening gets late and I'm alone with you.
The time is right, your perfume fills my head, the stars get red and oh the night so blue.
And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like "I love you."
