    Thumbs up Kid Rock

    I swear I searched first.
I saw his interview on Larry King last night. I have to say, I have not been a fan of his, and always thought of him as "just another rock and roller party guy". I will admit, I was pretty impressed with him.
He has raised his son on his own (for the most part), and alot of what he was talking about, such as moving to Malibu when he and Pam were married, he was concerned about his son fitting in and adjusting. He really impressed me with his down to earth parenting thinking.
He just bought a house here north of Detroit and they showed that as well. Sure didn't look like your "typical" famous rock persons house...it actully looked to be done in the 'country' style. He even admitted to having gone "antiquing"!!
I give him a thumbs up now...I was impressed.

I'm going to have to Google or YouTube that, because I would like to change my mind about what a dork I think he is.

Seriously, I thought EXACTLY the same thing!

He was even talking about when he went to Iraq for Christmas, no other celebrities were scheduled to go, and he was really genuine in what he was saying about how young our service members are, and how he was in the hospitals when they were giving last rites to some. He made a statement last night that I feel is so true, Its not whether we support the war or not, we have our young people over there fighting, we need to support them, they are only doing as they have been trained. (I did paraphrase)

Between him talking about Iraq and his son, thats what made me think he isn't such a dork...and perhaps he got real smart when he got rid of miss boobs!! LOL (I missed when he was talking about her and their divorce)

It sure is funny how he went from being a wannabe vanilla ica rapper to a country redneck in the span of a couple of years. He is from Detriot, not the south. The closest he grew up to a cow is a Mcdonalds. He's not even from the bad side of Detroit. In high school his parents bought him all the recording equipment he wanted.

I like Kid Rock despite of all the media BS about him and Pam. He's got good music,he just prefers to play all of it, Hip Hop, Rock, etc. Atleast Pam and Kids sexual porn movie didn't make it to stores.

He just got arrested again in Atlanta, I think it was. Fighting. At 5:15 in the morning. At waffle house. Lmao.

Seriously, I think he's ok and seems to come off more normal and down to earth. I remember some years ago he had a model girlfriend he broke it off with, because "she wanted to drink champagne in Paris, and I wanted to drink beer in Detroit" That is a really rough quote of what he said, but you get the idea.

Kid Rock has a home here too and he has always been nice to people here...as for his country ties ,lots of rockers have country ties and influences from him to metallica and just about everyone says they were influenced by Johnny Cash. There are always gonna be some people that you like and some you don't but it's all good. BTW I pretty sure there are cows in Michigan lmao

i'm sure i'll catch some shit for this...but here goes. I LOVE Kid Rock. I picked up Devil Without A Cause because I heard a coworker playing it when it came out. and it sounded good. and it WAS! i've been a fan ever since. i've picked up every cd since, and liked em all. the new cd is damn good too. as far as him going from rap to country rock, hey, it's his right as an artist to follow his heart when it comes to creating his own music. look at the Stones. they went from dirty Chicago blues, to pop, to country to fucking DISCO of all things. and they rocked it all. you can't call the guy out for doing his own music on his own terms. I find that quite cool, myself. how many other artists are doing what THEY want, and still getting airplay on top stations? few and far between, i'm sure. he's a fantastic performer, and an all around talented guy. not only is he writing and performing his own music, he plays guitar, keyboards, drums, bass and scratches a mean beat. and he does this at every gig he plays. my hats (or fedora) off to him for doing his own thing. if you listen with an open mind, and forget the Tommy Lee fight, Pammy marriage, Scott Stapp co-blow job video, and all around potty mouth...you may be suprised at this kid. he's got talent.

I use to think he was alright but as of late I don't. He keeps getting his fist caught on guy's faces. He's gonna slip up and hit Danny Bonoduce and then he won't hit anyone else. I hope he can run afterwards 'cause I don't think Danny would like that too much.

He plays whatever sells not what is in his heart. Half his songs are sample's anyway. no talent there. Just my opinion though. I really would like to see a Cattle ranch or a Dairy in Detriot. Maybe they are there. Never been

I totally agree with all of this. The thing I like is his refusal to get pigeonholed into one kind of music and stay there. He's touched around on various kinds of music thru the years, and he's done well with most of it. Also "Devil" was a great CD, he's got excellent wordplay, he's multi talented.

okay...let me break this down. he's NOT selling multi million copies of his cd's anymore. Devil sold BIG! Cocky was about 3 million. and his last studio cd Kid Rock sold just a hair over a million. so, I don't think it's fair to say he's playing what's gonna sell. if that WAS the case, he would have made 3 more Devil...style cd's. but he didn't. he plays the type of music he grew up on, and inspires him as an artist. his parents were big fans of Bob Seger, 60's/70's classic rock and old school country and western. but his friends growing up were mostly balck, so he fell in love with hip hop in the 80's, as MOST people from that era did. and, i'm sorry, but you don't have to be from Texas to play country and western. look at Skynyrd, they were from Florida of all places. and they played MEAN hillbilly, good ol boy music. now..onto the samples...if you have never heard a FULL cd, how can you honestly say half his songs are full of samples? it's not true. I have the cd's to prove it. and any other fans here will agree that it's a false statement you made. look, if you don't like him, that's cool. different strokes for different folk's. but don't make him out to be something he's NOT just becasue it's not your cup of tea. i'm not a fan of Justin Timberlake...but that doesn't mean i'm gonna make things up as reasons WHY I don't like him. it's not my thing..no biggie. and it's not fair. that's my 2 cents....

I've always liked Kid Rock and the fact that he got out of the Pam Anderson thing pretty quick made me admire him more. I always heard them say they wouldn't get married because she wanted Malibu, but he wanted Detroit. Then after the Tommy Lee fight, he was on some talk show and said he married because she said she was pregnant and then they were arguing because she wanted him to come to some party and he wanted to stay home and then she says she just had a miscarriage. He doesn't believe now she was ever pregnant and he thinks that is what she said to get the latest guy to marry her.

As far as his fights, I am rooting on anyone versus Tommy Lee and the Waffle House was the only place open at 5 a.m. and his band and support people go in and some guy in there starts going off on a woman in his group. K R is a good ol' boy and he got into it with the guy. Like him again.

The thing w/ Creed, man that creeped me out too. I only saw the trailer, but I just hated it.

I gotta say I do like Kid and I don't listen to most rap but what I have heard , well the majority seems to have sampling in it ...Kids not the only one that does lots of that...
as for 15 mins nearly being over can I ask when oh when is Pam Andersons gonna end...I predict soon cuz she is starting to look OLD and her looks are all shes got
