I have to admit, I always had a soft spot for Shari Lewis and Lambchop. I don't know what I was surprised more about that she died of ovarian cancer (had no idea she was sick) and that she was 65.

The survival of everyone on board depends on just one thing: finding someone on board who can not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner.
My warped sense of humor thought that it was funny as shit when an outraged SHARI told the story on tv once about how
"some wacky person finds it amusing to send her an assortment of mint jellies every Christmas".
Wasn't me. Honest.
Was the puppet Brother Buzz on that show too?
I remember I had a dream about her and that she died from some type of cancer.. I woke up the next morning and saw on the news that she had just passed away that day.
Can't say a bad thing about her. She was a sweet and talented lady.

my kids loved her show. she was around for years. my kids watched her show in the 1990's. i remember charlie horse. remember the theme song?? "this is the song that doesn't end, yes it goes on and on my friends, some people started singing it not knowing what it was and the'll continue singing it forever just because.... it was great. my kids had the toys also.
I have to say, I had a stuffed Lambchop...Don't know what I did with it.

One thing I remember about Lewis was that she really hated children's TV, in other words, the then-current state of children's TV. Not only what the then three big networks put out but also many local ones too like Phoenix's Wallace & Lamdo, Denver's Blinky The Clown , Cleveland's Barnaby or Baltimore's Captain Cheaspeake ( And I assume Pittsburgh's Captain Pitt since both were the same guy ). She felt they were junk. Come to think of it I seem to remember Sheri either worked or at least helped out the watchdog group Action for Childrens Television which over the years helped made many of local kids hosts unemployed.
At the time I read this was back in the early 80s so I don't know what her opinions were on the amount childrens shows on cable like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network or even the many different PBS networks that are out which were around befor her death.

This is the song that never ends,Yes, it goes on and on my friends
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was,
And they'll continue singing it forever just because.........
Good ol Charlie Horse lol ah memories.
Oh yes? The Song that Never Ends?.
Can only imagine how many camp councilors were driven mad on a bus trip by that song!
I recall? though quite young (of course) that Sherri was really good at not moving her lips?
A talent in ventriloquism that I have since seen is not very common?
Paul Winchell was another?
Aw, it was such a shame when Shari Lewis died...I loved that show when I was young...

On the internet you can be anything you want.
It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

I was bummed when Shari died - did anyone see her on that episode of The Nanny? I didn't even realise she was sick! She was so talented and Lamb Chop was a cute little sock!
what happened to Lamb chop after Shari died?
In 2000, her daughter, Mallory Lewis resumed her mother's work with the Lamb Chop character.
She even has her own You Tube page:

I didn't see a thread started on Shari Lewis so here goes.
I used to watch her when I was a kid. Loved Lamb Chop
Charley Horse and Hush Puppy. She was a very talented
lady and one of my favorite episodes of The Nanny was the
one that Shari Lewis guest starred in. I hear now her daughter
has taken over as the voice of the puppets. She died of ovarian
cancer.
I liked her too. Always so happy.
I liked her to, she entertained me as a child, I had forgotten about her, I had forgotten she died. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.
she was fun. lamb chop always made me hungry
I really liked her. Before her death my daughter and I would watch her. I bought my daughter Lamb chop and she was really getting into her and then she passed away.
Gotta love the ones with a happy dispostition! I love my friends with a happy dispositon they are called the Sanguine by some but they are naturally happy and easy in life, if life is good for them all the better if not they still are great to be around!
So sad...Children loved her. Rest in peace.
I edited my post last night but it didn't stick. Shari died of
uterine cancer on August 2, 1998.
I remember hearing about her death and just welling up with tears. She was a staple of my childhood and she was simply radiant. Loved her to pieces and felt I'd lost a dear friend when she passed.
Let's take a moment to remember Shari Lewis and Lambchop, okay?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]peek-a-boo!!
Shari Lewis, aside from being a talented ventriloquist and a lovely woman, also cowrote (with her husband) an episode of the original Star Trek, entitled 'The Lights of Zetar'.
My son LOVES him some Lambchop, he sleeps with one i gave him a year ago, she's all raggedy now, but he goes everywhere with her. She's his bestest friend in the whole wide world...
i remember her at this age, i envied her beautiful ponytail!
the song will never end: http://www.lambchop.tv/sharilewis/songthatdoesntend.htm
pull the string!
I still have my lambchop backpack and pillow. I pull the pillow out sometimes for old times sake.
That is SO cute Cubican!
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]peek-a-boo!!
