I love the Golden Girls. Back in high school, me and a girlfriend of mine would keep singing the theme song to eachother over and over again when we were drunk. Ah, good times. lol

I'm expecting we'll be burying Betty or Bea at any time really. Bea looked really bad the last time they got together with Rue for the release of the Golden Girls' book.

My wife's favorite show. I think she has seen each episode a 100 times.

They play it in Germany too. The voiceovers are hilarious, especially the little ones.

I saw some program where Bea, Betty and Rue all sent their best wishes out to Estelle Getty. Seems she's quite ill. Alzheimer's I think.

I love the show a lot -- I watch it every day.

I'm looking to get all of the seasons on DVD soon.

I too loved the Golden Girls. Bea, Rue, Betty and Estelle were a great cast. All of them are getting up in years. I read that Estelle is suffering from dementia.

She is..and Rue McClannhan said she doesn't recall anything when she views episodes of Golden Girls. Apparently she doesn't know any of her cast mates at all..except Betty White who resides where she does.

I love The Golden Girls, espicially when Dorothy calls Sophia a dried up sicilian monkey, lmao!! The Golden Palace was okay, but not as good as TGG.

I've seen EVERY episode about 8 million times. But I don't think I'd get the DVD because I've already seen all the episodes so many times!!

Remember that "very special episode" of GG where Sophia's friend gets Alzheimers or Dementia or something like that?

I used to watch GG when I was younger and still do on occasion that I can catch it. Hilarious show; Sophia was always my favorite

    Was Bea Arthur a dude?
Does anyone remember the movie "Airheads"? Came out in 1994 and had Adam Sandler, Brendan Fraser, and Steve Buscemi? Anyway, the one thing that always sticks out in my mind is when they're making their "demands" and one of them was naked pictures of Bea Arthur. Cracks me up everytime.

I love the show. The chemistry between those four was hysterical. I love how the creator's made each character from a different part of the country so they covered all bases and could play off each other like that. Betty White just turned 86 and Bea Arthur turns 86 in May. I believe Estelle Getty does in July. WOW. They're all "Sophia" now. Rue is the youngest, she's 70something.

    LOVE all of them!!

The Golden Girls!!!!!! Which one will die first? My bets are on Estelle Getty and Betty White! I've been talking about this for weeks! Bea Arthur is a racehorse. She'll be the last one on four legs!

Bea Arthur will be the last to go. She will live many more years. Estelle Getty will prob go first. BTW, she and Getty are at or near the same age.

I loved the show too, I watch it every time it's on!!! And I sing the opening song!

The song is frequently played on the 70s station satellite radio at work. Love it! Estelle Getty is not doing so well I've heard. She didnt appear on the GG reuinion a year ago due to the alzheimers. If I were to place a FAD Deathpool bet, Estelle would be on my list for '08. Think her thread would be as popular as the old Heath Bar?

Awww...no, it would'nt be, but I sure will miss her! She was so cute on the show. But of course, she is old and now ill, so somehow, we "expect" it.

One would think Estelle would be the first to go...but she's been ill for sometime now so who knows????? It seems like both Betty and Bea are doing pretty good, unless there's something we don't know.

How unfortunate. If you dont die young then youve lost your power to SHOCK with your death. Maybe one of the more mathematically inclined DeathHags could postulate a formula for the decline in attention received versus ones death. Mos def there are many variables: drug use, family history, psychological state; but I'm sure one of us could come up with a fairly accurate cencus of celbrity deaths. Unless you all consider this witchcraft! Cmon people, lets do it!

One of the best shows to this day. So sad about what Estelle Getty has been going through in recent years.
Nevertheless, those 4 women made for some terrific t.v.

I have to add though the one thing that always got me was that the show takes place in MIAMI and yet they're always wearing layers to cover up their flabby arms & necks. Even on the show in which they're trying to get enough money together to have the AC replaced they're running around in layers and complaining about "this here insane heat...."

    LMAO flabby arms and necks.

Loved the show and I am sure that I have seen every episode as well. Saw in the Enquirer years ago where Estelle was in the hospital and they gave an address to where you could send her a card. My son and I would watch the show every Friday night together and it always made us laugh so much. So, anyways...I sent her a card, wished her well and thanked her for giving my family some really fun memories. I never heard jack back... I was sort of hoping that I would at least get a thank you card! Har har har!!!!!!!! And BTW, don't know if anyone else caught this show, but it was a year or so ago and it was a roast for Pamela Anderson. Bea Authur was on it and she looked like hell...really really thin and sickly looking. That Sarah Silverman did her schtick and made a couple of comments regarding Bea that included saying Bea was gay (could be, who knows?) and had an old ugly smelly %^&&$$$! I know that that is Sarah's style, but I was really turned off by the comment. The camera showed Bea's face and she was laughing, so maybe that was kewl with her.

I've always heard that Bea Arthur HATED Betty White. I can believe that, I mean Bea seems very hard & cold, while Betty seems to hog the spotlight whenever she can, but what is the whole thing about?

ARTHUR has a mean streak in her a mile wide !
When they were filming THE GOLDEN GIRLS, WHITE was the only one who'd stand up against her. McCLANAHAN & GETTY just couldn't be bothered.
When BEA ARTHUR went on the road with one one of her 'One Woman' shows about 10 years ago, WHITE & McCLANAHAN both came to the first night's opening, and ARTHUR pointedly ignored WHITE the entire night; wouldn't even acknowledge her presence, though she made note to RUE McCLANAHAN several times to 'rub it in'.
She, ARTHUR is a very talented comedienne, with an excellent sense of timing for delivery; she is also coarse, crude & occassionally cruel. WHITE, on the other hand, aside from being a very talented performer is in addition very well liked in HOLLYWOOD & is known to be about a good a person as you can possibly come across.

Hmmmm. I remember hearing about that from someplace, about how Bea snubbed Betty at her show. I guess whatever happened there are two sides to every story. I'm sure we'll never know what went down between these two ladies. Who cares?? They were great on G.G. Do you know any more dish on this???

When Bea was here in MN doing her show I tried to go to the stagedoor afterwards to meet her, but she dodged out another exit apparently. I think when doesn't want to meet fans she's crafty at avoiding them.
