One of the most talented comedians who ever drew a breath, although his silent work is far superior to his sound era work. He also directed the Three Stooges. UNJUSTLY FORGOTTEN!

Doesn't seem that old to die of a Heart Attack.
But maybe way back years ago he had a Heart problem
    that was hard to fix.
Remember him from a lot of late night TV.

Chase drank a hole in his stomach and barely survived the operation to repair it. It is believed this took years off of his life. His good friend and collegue Lloyd Hamilton drank a hole in his stomach also but did not survive his operation.

Lloyd Hamilton was one of the most underrated and forgotten comics of the silent to early talkie era. As you mention, the bottle killed him.
