It came out last May. Terrible. I was surprised since Frances Cobain was a producer.

I am open to the murder theory, just surprised Frances somewhat endorsed it (IMO). Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever know for certain.

It was interesting for sure. I've leaned towards murder for a long time now and this documentary was pretty compelling to me. The one thing above all that rings in my mind is how does someone ingest that much heroin then are able to pick up a shotgun and shoot themselves. Maneuvering a shotgun to point it at your own head and pull the trigger is awkward at the least so trying to do it when you've injected enough heroin to kill a horse....... I just don't buy it. I don't think we'll ever find out the truth because the Seattle police don't want to reopen the case because that would be admitting that they screwed up the crime scene.

"Soaked in Bleach" was basically all the info that the private investigator (Tom Grant) had accumulated since the moment Courtney hired him to find Kurt after he escaped rehab.

Both were very interesting!
I particularly liked how they used the phone call recordings of Courtney in SIB.
I had never thought a murder theory possible until seeing this, now I'm torn!

I actually got the impression than more than for the money or fame, he just wants justice because he believes in right from wrong.

I liked Nirvana. I was 16 when he died, it was the music going on at that time in my life. What I like even more is I worked a job with some 20 something's (good kids, funny, hard workers) and one of them asked me "what was it like?"
"I mean you were there Melissa, when it all happened! You got to listen to them as they released albums!"

I never thought of it that way, but it made me really grateful that I got that chance.

I found the documentary compelling. In fact, when I heard the tapes of Courtney Love talking to Tom Grant; and especially the taped recording of Courtney & Kurt's LAWYER and Frances Bean's GODMOTHER talking to Tom about how Kurt was divorcing Courtney and was NOT suicidal, I felt like I might be sick. The last piece of evidence which has my attention and points to murder is the gun - pointed upside down, the barrel in a death grip in Kurt's left hand, and the ejected shell casing being on the WRONG SIDE...

he'd had at least 6 witnessed overdoses in a year. witnessed by other people not just courtney.

Its pretty suspicious if you ask me. I watched "Soaked in Bleach" again this week and I remember one medical examiner say if you wanted to kill someone and get away with it, kill an addict. Its the perfect crime. I don't know much about heroin but from what they say, he had more than three times a lethal amount in his system. Does that mean he would have actually had to load and use a syringe three times?

Thanks for the info about heroin. I totally agree. I've heard of "hot shots," so if they wanted to do him in, I would think that would be sufficient. However, if he did have that much in his system - especially after being in detox for a few days before his death, he had a super human tolerance.

Since he was gripping the shotgun, I'm wondering if he was there with someone else threatening to do it and things got out of hand? Just trying to think of any scenario. I can't imagine someone he knew leaving him up there like that. Courtney did end up paying the bills of the guy (for a few years) who assisted the private detective and she did get him wasted before he was due to talk to him. That seems odd if she really did want information.

The guitar in question is reported to have been insured at $1.3 million and is worth possibly even more, so no wonder she wants it back. He's claiming it was a "wedding present". Courtney made a statement saying that the guitar is "a treasured family heirloom" and "not his to take". You can tell this is going to turn into some nasty he said, she said shit.

I just find it odd that she would give him THAT guitar. there are several of kurt's electrics still in storage. but this one, worth so much, besides iconic.

That's just it, common sense dictates that she wouldn't give him such a significant and valuable guitar but on the flip side, people make grand gestures when they believe they are in love, so I'm undecided on this. From his point of view though, even if she did allegedly gift it to him, it's such an important piece of music history that it's a dick move for him to keep it. It just makes him look like a desperate wannabe out for what he can get now the relationship has gone south.
