    Cub Koda

Best known for his work with Brownsville Station. "Smokin' In The Boys Room" hit #3 in the Billboard charts in 1973, and was later covered by Motley Crue.

I saw him live years ago when he had gone solo, and he just knocked it out of the park. A showman's showman.

In an intro to one of his books, Stephen King says "Cub Koda-possibly Americas best houserocker"

    Cub Koda 10/1/1948-7/1/2000 RIP

Yeah apparently he did a lot of writing.
He contributed to "Blues For Dummies" as well.

My 8th grade science teacher was friends with him. He even brought in a Christmas card from Cub Koda to show us. It was pretty cool at the time.

Ok I searched and didn't find him anywhere! I know that not many people know who he is but we are all familiar with his bands one hit wonder "smokin in the boys room" his band "Brownsville Station" He was the one with the thick glasses singing the song. Here's what wikipedia had to say about him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cub_Coda he was also co writer of the book "Blues for Dummies" in 1998. Although it seems his page in musical history is only a mere footnote I think this guy needs a thread all his own.

I saw Brownsville Station at one of the old Central Park/Wollman Rink concerts; NYC in the 70s. they opened for Slade and totally rocked the house. for whatever reason, many in the audience were giving them the finger throughout the show. I'll never forget Kip saying: "that's what I love about New York-everyone's so friendly".
