She was absolutely stunning when she was younger and as Lily, I thought she was pretty, too! I sent away for an autograph (I have a HUGE collectio) and she sent me a picture from the 50's that was made out to a fella' named George...Oh, well.

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]peek-a-boo!!
Yeah I thought she was really beautiful as Lily...interesting that you got a photo made out to George...better than nothing I guess?
She was great in the film 'Satan's Cheerleaders'(that is one funny film)
Yvonne De Carlo was a stone cold fox in her younger days. She wasn't bad on the Munsters either. I saw Mclintock and she held her own with the Duke and Mareen O Hara.
Yvonne Craig was Batgirl and yea she was cute.
I always thought Yvonne DeCarlo so beautiful. I mean, look at her!
Friends/Co-Workers and I often play the "Who Would You Rather Do" game... I have asked many guys who would they pick between Yvonne and Carolyn Jones. I'm always hugely disappointed because MOST guys pick Carolyn, and I'm sorry.. but Yvonne could run circles around Carolyn!
She was so pretty before Lilly, well as Lily too. I think that kind of Type casted her.
My Dad went to school with her. He thought she was so beautiful even then... said she was very nice and friendly to everyone. He followed her career closely and never failed to mention that he "knew" someone famous.
thats cool. Did he ever get to see her when they were older adults at a reunion or something?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't they involved for a while?
Yes, she was BEAUTIFUL. No arguments here!
-K.
Anyone have any pics of her later in life?
Looking at her photots I see a resemblance to Catherine Zeta Jones..I think both women are absolutely beautiful!
She was beautiful, and a nice actress.
She did indeed have an affair with Howard Hughes,
His husband, by then, was a stuntman and he had an accident, so she accepted the took the role of Lily for the money.
Yvonne De Carlo was a very beautiful woman for sure. I heard once that she posed for Playboy magazine for men. Is this true? Duke
1979.....
Later...

Tony Curtis tells a funny story about Yvonne
"When I left the Navy, I used the GI Bill to get into the Dramatic Workshop, which was located at the President Theatre on Forty-eighth Street. Walter Matthau and Harry Belafonte were students there, too. We were all just trying to make it. Later on, I went out to California, and good things started happening for me. When I came back to New York to do a promotion for City Across the River, they gave me a suite at the Sherry-Netherland and a huge black limo. I took it around to show my buddies in the Bronx and then went by the Dramatic Workshop. It was a terrible, rainy afternoon, and who do I see out in front? Walter Matthau. He's got a long, heavy coat on with a Racing Form sticking out of the pocket, and he's looking down at the gutter. Here I am in this nice, warm limo. And there he is, this grumpy guy surrounded by a cold, miserable world. The look on his face says, "What's ever going to happen for me? Nothin'!" So I tell the driver to pull alongside him and stop. Now Walter's watching the limo. I roll the window down, look at him, and say, "I fucked Yvonne De Carlo!" Then I roll the window back up in a hurry and tell the driver to get the hell out of there.
No, no, no, he wasn't mad! For years, Walter loved to tell that story at parties. He'd make it last twenty minutes."
Thanks for those, sickRick!
Hey you guys, this is an UN PROOFED story I did on Yvonne. It'll go "live" later today. Johnny, I hope you don't mind, I used your Tony Curtis story.

This is wonderful !!
Thanks Scott, loved the story....seems fine as is. I checked out the myspace blogs. Looks like Bruce might also be a bit dyslexic maybe ?
I heard Yvonne took the role of Lily Munster because she needed the money. She was about to lose her house or something but she stated that it was undoubtedly the end of her career. She once stated if she knew the show would have become so popular, she would have had her agent demand a percentage ownership of it.
Al Lewis, who played Grandpa, said Yvonne was a "prima donna" at first. He supposedly took her aside one day and told her to stop being so "difficult". After that, they all became friends..supposedly.
I typed her name in you tube and found a great clip from the Vicki Lawrence Show in 1994. She had all types of classic tv stars on: Yvonne De Carlo talked about her three year relationship with Howard Hughes; they showed clips and photos from the past. Great few minutes.
Did you know she was on the very first episode of Bonanza!

My favorite movie of hers is Band of Angels. She played the daughter of a plantation owner whose mother was black. This is a "must see" for fans.
Here's a video clip from a 1949 film noir "Criss Cross." The film stars Burt Lancaster and Yvonne DeCarlo as his ex-wife, Anna. Check out Yvonne dancing a rumba with an unknown actor named Tony Curtis while ex hubbie Burt looks on like a lovesick schoolboy.
I'm semi addicted to the song they'e dancing to. It's called Jungle Fantasy.
i think she was especially beautiful in her role in 'the ten commandments' as sefora
pull the string!
She's the reason that I wear black. Got a whole damn closet full of black clothes. I want to be Lilly when I grow up...Hey, wait, I'm thirty damn five...O.K. Anyhow I Loved her in McClintock with John Wayne. It was so funny to see the Duke and Yvonne falling all over drunk as two skunks...I know they were both great actors but I have always wondered if they weren't really hittin' the hooch! She was stunning...Miss her much...You see these folks on television your whole life and when they die, it's like a member of your family is gone...Stupid death...
Well said. People always wonder why it's upsetting to me when some actors die...well, it's like there's a little hole in the world where there used to be somebody I really cared about and, yes, spent time with. Virtually, perhaps, but still...anyway, I ramble.
Y de C IS definitely missed.
Wow...i didn't realize Lily was such a beauty....loved the Munsters
She had a timeless beauty. I loved her as Lily Munster.
She was in a wonderful old b&w film with Alec Guiness, The Captain's Paradise.
