Julian Sands

The remains found on Mt Baldy were confirmed to be Actor Julian Sands.

Sands, 65, disappeared on 13 January while hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains, north of Los Angeles.
He is best known for his roles in the Oscar-winning film A Room With A View, and the TV dramas 24 and Smallville.
His other credits included 2011's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, in which he appeared opposite Daniel Craig.
Sands, born in Otley, West Yorkshire, disappeared in the Baldy Bowl area during bad weather.
First movie I saw of Sands was Warlock.

Not a surprise with how he was found but it seems they couldn't find an actual cause of death for Julian. It's been put down as undetermined.

I am going to guess it was due to weather exposure, it was during Jan, they got a lot of snow and it was very cold. He probably got lost, hypothermia set in and he saddly lost his life.

I wonder if he might have fallen, if so I hope it was over quickly.

Could be as well Mansfield, maybe got buried under some snow. I am glad he was found and his family has closure.

Looks like even though many claimed he was experienced, he didn't do things an experienced hiker would. I wonder if it was a case of him doing it so often he thought he was fine and then...
