For me it was Paul Mcartney's Live and let Die that song use to scare the bejesus out of me.the beginning of the movie was no better but i heard the song first to a film clip base on the volences in america and there were hangings,shootings,MLK and JFK assassinations and it just scare me and that song shook me up until my early adult hood now its one of my favorite songs.

Damn! ScottyMonger beat me to it. D. O. A. That song came out when I was like ten, and it absolutely terrified me. I still can't listen to it without wigging slightly out. Knights In White Satin by the Moody Blues scared me if they played the "complete" version, where he does the poem (?) at the beginning. Hell, the whole song's weird as fuck. I like it but it used to completely scare me out of my mind and they ALWAYS played it late at night. Bad vibes for a ten or eleven year old!

For anyone who is unfamiliar with the song....it was written by Rupert Holmes (who was in a much happier frame of mind when he wrote "Escape:The Pina Colada Song) and it's about trapped miners who resort to cannibalism. I was 7 when I first heard it, so it had to be explained to me....which is what big brothers are for....to scare the living poop out of me!!!

Thriller and Hotel California scared me. Thriller because of vincent price's voice and Hotel California because I always thought it was people chasing them and wouldnt let them leave the place. I was a kid with an imagination.

"#9 Revolution" -- probably because of all of the weird sound effects and random phrases
"Tomorrow Never Knows" -- the creepy sound that I learned later was the result of playing Paul McCartney's laugh backwards (not as scary after that)

When I was a kid, I read some story about backmasked messages in rock music, and it scared the bejesus out of me every time I heard one of those songs. The ones that (allegedly) had backmasked messages were "Revolution #9," Pink Floyd's "The Wall," "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin, and whichever Beatles song was supposed to have the "Paul is Dead" message backwards (was it Revolution #9 or Day in the Life? don't remember now!!). The whole thing just gave me the creeps.

I think we have the same song. Its called "Black Sabbath" Its off of their first album. Even though it gave me nightmares I would still listen to it. I remember being 6 years old and sneaking into my brothers room while he was at school and putting it on. Even the cover would scare me. It had a green witchy lookin woman on the front.I would close my eyes when I would pull the record out of the sleeve. To me that album was the birth of Heavy Metal.
The first one is Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. I much prefer Godzilla....
KISS scared the living Jesus out of me when I was a kid. I was very small in the late 70s, since I was born in 1975, after all, so you know, you have these dudes dressed in their freaky outfits, with their makeup on, with the pyrotechnics, well....not a good scene!
But then, I was the kid who freaked out whenever The Incredible Hulk came on television, too.
