Child actors have it tough: the casualty list of ones who never (or barely) made it to adulthood is staggering.

It's strange they headlined that he (briefly) played "Alexander" on (what they should have clarified as) ST: THE NEXT GENERATION, but didn't mention his rather longer stint as "Quentin" on GRACE UNDER FIRE until further down, a role where at least he wasn't coated with makeup and prosthetics. Then again, they would have had to bring up Mr. Steuer's very early "MeToo" incident-- allegedly his parents had removed him from GUF because Brett Butler (who had substance use issues of her own), who played his mother, allegedly flashed her breasts at the then-12-year-old boy (and who knows what else.) The series then was re-tooled with an older "Quentin" while the other children who played his siblings remained the same until the end.

(LeBump) I stumbled across his name and just became aware that he had died. I do remember him, but not by name. I do remember that episode of Star Trek TNG and a few others with Worf's son Alexander (of course a few different people portrayed the character.) So what happened to him here? Aren't we missing a bunch of information?

Something must have gone downhill for him between 2015 (upbeat interviews, opening his vegan restaurant) and 2018 (suicide, GSW to head).

From his Wiki entry, looks like Steuer was talented in many areas, driven, and haunted by Grace Under Fire long after he wanted to leave it behind and start fresh for himself. Seems a damn shame. RIP.
