I don't know if I needed to make a new thread for this but I just read that Jim Nabors has passed away. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...was-87-1008103

KELT' HOME FOR WAYWARD YOUTH-
Helping Young Men To Turn Around For Over Twenty Years !
This one makes me a bit sad. I really liked him on "The Andy Griffith Show" and he was great on his own spin off, "Gomer Pyle USMC." Gave me a lot of laughs back in the day. He always seemed to be a gentle soul. RIP.

I also liked him on TAGS. And when I was little, watched him on GP USMC. anywhoo, I was already sad a few years ago
when he couldnt sing at the Indy 500. *sighs* More childhood going away.

Watched him growing up. He was a hoot. He had a great voice. I can remember him singing Back Home In Indiana at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rest in Peace.
I remember watching reruns of his shows loved them and him, rest in peace sir, he had a beautiful singing voice.
He played that role to perfection. I remember watching interviews with him, such a gentleman. Beautiful singing voice, my Mum loved his records. RIP Jim.
Today you could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness.
The days of good TV. RIP.

Words can't convey how much I miss you both. RIP with love.
Reunited, and it feels so good.

Nothing against Goober, but Mayberry just wasn't the same without Gomer.
I never missed Gomer Pyle, USMC either.
RIP, Jim.

I met him once & he was a truly nice person.

It was entertaining watching him on GP but after a few times it became a novelty. I guess he was a good singer if you like that style. I didn't so I didn't listen much yo it although I would say he did a good job with the Indiana song
Not many of the characters from youth left. Most who are were young themselves at the time. Barbara Eden still hanging around. (she never looked better than her AG episode)
Was sort of curious who was left outside of Ron Howard. Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou) is still around as is Elinor Donahue but she was sort of a late addition and wasn't in that many episodes. It's kind of interesting that Jim was only in 23.
Jack Burns is still here (Deputy Warren) but again, a late edition only in a few episodes. A few other smaller roles.
This one caught me by surprise, although at his age I shouldn't have been. I always liked him. Another piece of my childhood is gone.
Any day above ground is a good day.
BTW, did they ever announce his cause of death?
Any day above ground is a good day.
Fortunately I haven't read any obit that mentions the Jim Nabors/Rock Hudson "marriage" rumor, the obits seem to be treating him with dignity.
"Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!" Funny on GP-USMC, but I never cared for his singing.
