R.I.P I remember all the hysterics when he married Cher and then she wanted an immediate divorce. Weirdness at its best.

I remember being shocked when Cher and Gregg got married... and even more shocked 9 days later! I was in my early teens at the time, and he was the epitome of a heroin addict at the time. I've learned a lot about him since then, I hate that I used to view him as such, and recognize him as an amazing talent. He had his demons, he conquered them, and left us with some wonderful contributions. RIP

R.I.P. I'll watch the movie Almost Famous today in his honor which is loosely based off the Allman Brothers (as well as a few other bands)

great voice, wonderful talent. I know he had hepatitis, which he blamed on tattoo parlors....
    and had liver cancer also.
    Rest in Peace.
wonder if he will be buried next to duane and berry?

Oh wow, I forgot he was in that movie. It's been so long since I've seen it. Doesn't he play a drug dealer?

I remember seeing the film 'Rush'.

I adore Gregg Allman's voice and his organ playing.

Remember reading how Gregg Allman came up with the name 'Melissa' for the song of the same name.

This isn't a link to the original article I read, but the story is the same.

    Melissa

    Gorgeous song, isn't it?

Wow! Thank you for sharing... this is wonderful... I never knew this story.

Since Gregory's passing, I have been spending hours and hours listening to The Allman Brothers Band, watching performances, and perusing their fabulous website... SO awesome!

The heart and soul he put into performing and playing that organ is nearly unmatched. Another legend gone.

He was always a favorite of mine regardless of his personal demons. I'd always meant to see the movie "Rush" and finally did tonight. Although he had few lines, he was perfectly cast as the elusive drug dealer hiding in plain sight. Dude could act, using only body language throughout the majority of the film.
