Thread: Lamar Odom

    Lamar Odom

In a brothel in Nevada.... being transported to a hospital in Las Vegas. Mucus/Fluid from mouth, nose. Intubated.

    http://www.tmz.com/2015/10/13/lamar-...thel-hospital/

They were planning to take him by helicopter to Vegas... but he's too tall! Reports are Khloe, Kim and Kris are enroute to Vegas.

Wasn't his and Khloe's divorce final over the summer? I know the K's are a horrible family - and even his drug abuse is blamed on him, but this is all on him!

**Looked for a "deathwatch" section of FAD's forum - that would be great! Should be under the Death Hags Sub Forum!

I was wondering if someone had set up a deathwatch thread. Well done, Tntina!

I guess it was only a matter of time. Its sad when people can see someone headed down the path of destruction due to drug abuse and there is nothing they can do to stop it. I hope he can pull through and get better.

BTW, a "death watch" section is a really good idea.

I agree...a Deathwatch thread would be very interesting
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

OMG, I too hope he pulls through and can get his life back together. He's had his share of messes, all brought on by himself for the most part, but he has always seemed like he had a good heart and a lot of love to give.

Please, let him pull through this.... come on Lamar. xo

Although I've never been a regular viewer of KUWTK, I've always remembered this particular clip, and conversation, between Rob and Lamar. All Kardashian stuff completely aside, I hope and pray that Lamar comes through this, and is able to get his life back.... the thoughts he expresses here are prophetic considering that his life is literally hanging in the balance at this very moment. Wow.

Reports are that he was using some "herbal Viagra" to give out some of that love in Nevada.

Description of his condition reminded me of how Chris Farley was described when he was found.

While I hope he recovers I hate that all the coverage is about the Kardashians. "Kris and Khloe rush to Lamar's bedside", "Khloe heartbroken as Lamar put in hospital" etc... STFU. I hope for his child/ren he makes it through but enough about the Kardashians.

I know, I just meant with the stuff coming out of his mouth. Sounds like an overdose, especially with his history. I've heard rumors off an on for the last 7 hours that he's dead but nothing official. I just read the first actual link about it, and he was on a booze and pill bender. I was trying to not click on links earlier and just reading comments and heard things like all he took was "herbal viagara" or something. I know commenters are full of bullshit, I was just trying to not click any links to give these people any more measurable attention.

eta: They brought their own camera crew filming for their show?? Just when you think these people can't sink any lower.

I totally agree with you all that bringing a camera crew to what could possibly be the death of Lamar is so beyond classless, I'm having trouble thinking of a word for it. I guess in the Kardashian world, if it wasn't captured on camera, it didn't really happen.

I just read that Kim, Scott, Rob and the rest of them are headed to the hospital. I feel pretty sorry for the hospital staff. They're going to be put to the test.

His chances for survival are 50/50, but each failing organ makes it that much harder to get an accurate brain function test.

    LAMAR ODOM

    50/50 CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL

And the Kardashians are turning this into an episode for the show it seems.

    http://dlisted.com/2015/10/14/pimp-m...t-miss-a-beat/

What a horrible situation......Here you are lying in a hospital bed, close to death, your organs are shutting down, and you might have brain damage.....and then the cameras along with the silicone sisters show up to make sure they can get a good Nielsen rating for that episode of KUWTK. Dear God just take me now.

Hard to feel sorry for a guy who must have spent several days in a brothel doing hard drugs. But he was involved with those Kardashians at one time so I do feel bad for him.

Does not sound good at all.

I'm hearing there absolutey is not a camera crew there - the show is on hiatus. Kobe and the Lakers GM have been there, Jessie Jackson, KK+K Kardashian, and now his dad is there.

Sometimes the KUWTK is background noise for us - he and Khloe seemed to really, truly love each other. She wouldn't stay if he kept doing drugs. I'm not so sure he wasn't the catalyst for Rob's downward spiral. He (Rob) graduated from business school, was starting his own business, as well as being part of the K machine on the show - he lived with K and Lamar for awhile.

I think their divorce was final in August. I read she kept dragging her feet and finally the judge said to either finalize it or it would be dropped.

I think she's there because she still cares about him very much. I think they would still have been together if he wasn't addicted to drugs.

Yeah. Edited to add: Apparently Lamar was doing cocaine with some of the pros at the "ranch." I don't think the owner of the ranch can allow those two to remain working there. I think being the owner of one of the few legal brothels in America, you've got to be way above reproach when it comes to illegal drugs. I would think that he's going to have to fire them. Anyway, here's the link:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...s-bedside.html

Edited once again to add at the link above, it says that Lamar's father arrived in town and immediately went shopping for a suit. I think dad's getting ready for a funeral.

And, another tidbit: The owner of the Ranch tells the Kardashians' to GO TO HELL:

I'm glad he still has his dad there for him, but buying a suit doesn't sound good, unless he's worried about how he'll looked being photographed with the paps around for the KKK.

I haven't read the link here, but I also heard the divorce had not been signed by a judge and Khloe is still considered next of kin.

I wonder if the family will try and sue the Bunny Ranch or whichever place of Hoff's he was staying at if he dies. I agree he needs to fire those girls. He was the one who was at first insisting all Lamar took was herbal Viagara, but of course there have been reports of hard drugs since then and I think he's changed his tune. I was half listening on the radio on the way home from school but I had to make several stops so I wasn't getting all the story.

Lamar sure had some tough things in his life, I don't wish that on anyone. I wish he could have found a better way to cope than with drugs. I wish Khloe and basketball could have been enough for him. I hate the K family with a passion, but I still think it's too bad this happened to him, even if it was his choice.

editing again to add: I just read through the timeline, one I read earlier also said Lamar lost a child to SIDS or something like that? Or some other childhood illness? I don't see that in this timeline and I don't remember the exact details. He also lost his mother at a fairly young age I believe. I wonder if there will be any animosity between his dad and the Ks based on the comments back and forth on Twitter about his dad not being there for him.

OK, according to some guy on FB who has followed him his whole basketball career, Lamar lost a 6mo old child to SIDS in 2006, lost his mother when he was 12, and his dad is a recovering heroin addict. Possibly suffers from depression, which wouldn't be surprising. Add that to the stuff just in the last couple of years and that's a lot of stuff.

All true Bettie.... his mom died of breast cancer when Lamar was 12, his grandmother passed fairly recently, and his best friend (best man at Khloe and Lamar's wedding), OD'd this past June. He has experienced a LOT of loss in his life.

Lamar clearly had a lot of loss and other personal issues to deal with. However, most of us have. Its no excuse to wreck oneself and perpetuate the cycle onto one's children. Now Lamar's children have a reason to wreck their lives. Once we become adults, the "reasons" for getting into drugs in the first place is no longer valid. Once we're adults, we need to recognize these things and deal with them through rehab or therapy or both.

Absolutely true McCourt... you are definitely right on there. As you said, the circle continues if you don't get help, and can ruin your own life, and those of the people who love and care about you.

Yep, totally agree, and I do say he made this choice. And like you said, now he's making these choices that are not only affecting but will affect his children and again like you said, perpetuate that cycle. I never think someone's past excuses their current behavior, though I think it can help explain it. I wish somehow having children could magically make people make better choices, and it SHOULD, since everything they do no longer affects only themselves. I know it's not that simple, though, but it sure would help a lot of things going on in the world.

I read about his best friend (had been bf's since childhood) - he actually died of flesh eating bacteria - caused by using dirty needles! Yikes!!
