    Jenna McMahon - 89

Jenna McMahon, who along with her writing and comedy partner (they had an act similar to that of Stiller & Meara and Nichols & May) Dick Clair created the sitcom The Facts of Life has died at the age of 83.

McMahon & Clair also created "The Family" - the Carol Burnett skit featuring Eunice and Mama, as well as the comedy about the lives of waitresses - It's A Living.

As interesting as their creative lives were, it was Mr Clair's death in 1988 from multiple AIDs-related illnesses that garnered the most attention. Long an advocate of cryonics, he sued the state of California (virtually from his death bed) to be allowed the legal right to be cryonically preserved. He prevailed and was cryogenically frozen on his death on December 12th, 1988.

I remember her and Mr. Clair on a short-lived comedy series THE FUNNY SIDE (1971) which featured sketches mostly about married couples. There were other male-female comedy duos on the series, even if (like Clair & McMahon) they weren't married in real life. Hard to believe Ms. McMahon was already in her mid-40s at the time (she was 6 years older than comedy partner Dick Clair.)
