That's much better, although the song you mentioned is one of my least favorites.

    Yes, I agree!

Minnie Riperton's song "Loving You" would be perfect for the torture chamber. If it doesn't make your ears bleed, nothing will. I'd rather listen to cats fuck.

John Deere Greene was so popular when I was in high school. And now I have a continuous loop of Bubba in my head.

"Went to the truck and got a .45................." - love both of these songs. Must be a southern thing.

You know what would make a better song for a torture room?

I'd definitely would be caught because I'd have that song stuck in my head forever and I could see the news reports saying how Steve Perry's Oh Sherrie was found at the scene played on a continuous loop. Id be singing it in public and someone would get wise.

True, lol. The continuous brain loop would get you caught.

Now this song and Bubba Shot the Jukebox are in my head. Steve Perry has an amazing voice, though!

Is the music meant to inspire you or create more fear in your victim?

I know, it's just not my cup of tea. Where he grew up is only about a half an hour trip from where I live. I respect him and many others, I just don't like that kind of music.

you don't like Bluegrass or the Beachboys -- but you like Journey --- if we ever meet, remind me to slap you with that cup of tea

LOL! Calm down, cupcake, that would be a waste of good tea. I like 70's and 80's country and rock and my husband and son like heavy metal and we all coexist peacefully, no violence with cups of tea necessary.

Tea-slapping? Is that what happens when the Queen and Camilla get into a disagreement at Buckingham Palace?

And I'd like to add Nickelback to my torture chamber playlist.

Bluegrass is GOD'S OWN MUSIC - it's what the angels play in their spare time!

But Nickelback definitely violates most of the terms of the Geneva Convention.

What, you reject both kinds of music? In praxis, things must be very quiet around your place.

IMO, there is a lot of difference between 70's and 80's country music and what passes for country music currently.

I would say or do nearly anything to avoid hearing this song from beginning to end.

Actually, I missed the obvious choice, if I was the torturer:

Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talkin' when I hear the silly things that you say
I think somebody better put out the big light, cause I can't stand to see you this way

Maybe paired with a little "Watching the Detectives" for my apres torture enjoyment

We want to torture them . . . not kill them!

Based on the reaction of some people to her music, today I'm thinking Joni Mitchell, maybe interspersed with Philip Glass.

I agree... It depends on who I would be torturing.. or If I were being tortured... So I'll post 2x... So happy I found a lot just a twisted as me! So if you all were to torture me... I would die willfully I am sure of torture... just by listening to:

Now to torture others.... I might start with the Cramps.. from the 80' Bad Music Album just has nice "beating' beat but it can grate too :
