Except for the glamour shot where her mom is kissing her (Eye makeup? Really?), and even there, only her face is visible. And it's entirely possible that that picture is from some time ago.

There really is something dirty about this whole thing, and I don't mean that in a good way.

There is definitely a lot of underhandedness going on. It amazes me that they found a facility that was willing to hook a child up to life support after she had already been declared dead. Where's the ethics?

Actually I thought the bundling was because her body can no longer regulate body temperature (beings that she's dead) and in some other article it stated that blankets were needed to keep her at 95 degrees. I also rolled my eyes at the "room temperature" statement. That doesn't mean anything when she isn't breathing that room temperature air ON HER OWN! I mean it was a huge deal when my Scooter started breathing room air through his oxygen mask in the NICU. He was also breathing on his own though with no ventilators. THEN it's a big deal! When ventilators are still working your lungs for you.....not so much.

Edit: Okay now I'm really pissed! The pic of her "sitting up" in bed.......that's so obviously staged and just wrong! The pillows are keeping her knees propped up, there are pillows behind her back and rolled up towels under her hands! They're playing with a corpse trying to get money and fame and attention! God I just want to puke for that poor little girl's soul!

Wouldn't a hot environment and lots of blankets make her skin break down faster?

Hmmm...true! I just remember reading that doctor's report on here that stated blankets were needed to regulate her body temperature because, well, she can't! Of course, the blankets could be to hide the condition of her poor face as well. There was a pic of her partial face with bandages over her eyes. Even with the bandages there you can tell her eyes are beyond sunken in. I suspect those bandages are to cover that up and probably hide the fact that her eyes can't close all the way. When a body dies, I read that the first thing to dehydrate is the eyelids and that's why your eyes don't close up all the way. I guess they kind of shrink up. The photos of her legs hanging off the bed are supposedly her trying to get out of bed! HA! Those poor atrophied legs couldn't try to get out of bed if God himself commanded it! It's sick! I mean really really sick!

The picture with the bandages over her eyes really got to me. I'm surprised a picture like that was even released to the public. I would also think there would be an odor to deal with. I have a hard time believing that her skin hasn't broken down at all and bedsores have their own distinct smell. I sure wouldn't want to smell that in a hot room. Everything about this is just disgusting and wrong.

I also just want to clarify that I am a mother to three beautiful children. I would be beyond devastated and lost without them. I don't know if I could survive if something happened to one of them. I also know, however, that watching one of my babies decompose before my eyes would send me over the absolute edge. I would think that is how any normal mother would feel. Once I heard from multiple doctors and specialists that my child was not just brain dead but.....dead, then I certainly wouldn't be thinking "We'll hook her up to as many machines as possible and let's hope the smell doesn't get too bad in here. OH and let's also see just how much money we can bilk from this while we're at it!" I like to think that I'd let my baby go with some degree of dignity and then if it were the fault of doctors....I'd deal with it after my baby was gone and put at rest.

I am surprised her nails (if they are her nails) look so healthy and pink. Theres a shot without polish.

  10. #260
    MinLynn Guest
But can you be sure they are her nails? I mean without a face to go with it.....those could be anybody's hands. If you're trying to convince the world that your dead daughter is indeed alive then you wouldn't show a picture of atrophied, darkened fingers. You would show pictures of her full body or face as proof it was her. If you can't do that then you would take a shot of someone else's hands and say they were her's. Hands aren't immediately identifiable to the public I would think. Of course, that's my just my opinion on it....

The pic that is really unnerving is the one where her mom is kissing her. She has her in a lip-lock. Full on. This girl has been dead for a while, it seems like that might be dangerous.

Even it isn't, it's gross to do it on the mouth.

Wow those pics are disturbing. My opinion is the one of the mom kissing her on the lips was probably taken a while back, like before or right after she died. Ok and here's all I can think of....if they are posing poor Jahi like that and moving her around and she is long dead...wouldn't her body leak or tear apart or something??

    Oooh, like in Thriller!

Sorry, that's a legitimate question but the image struck me as funny. I have problems.

After doing some reading I guess the antibiotics and hormones they are giving her would arrest some of the decomposing. It wouldn't stop it however from happening eventually. You can see in some of the pics that her legs have deteriorated and atrophied. There is barely any muscle left. Her toes are in a downward pointed angle and are curling. The towels kept in her hands are to prevent her fingers from curling in far enough to cut her skin. The kissing pic has been shopped. That's why it's in black and white because whoever did the shopping probably wasn't too good at it. All of that was accomplished with the dodge and burn tool which only takes a few minutes to learn how to do in a free program. It's also easier to hide in a low res pic like on twitter or facebook. If I could find a similar photo of someone I could do it to show you but I can't seem to find one.

I also figured those pictures weren't recent. I think it's pretty disgusting for them to be posing her. It seems like her arms and legs would be stiff and it also seems like her skin would be really fragile. Maybe the posed pictures weren't recent either.

Yeah, they may be dipping into the old pics because they certainly wouldn't want anyone seeing proof that their cash cow is really just a rotting side of beef at this point. Just awful.

I have past experience with nursing home patients, but not a bedridden child. I would think that her body would be stiffened from being in bed for months and posing her would be impossible, but I don't know that for a fact. That is the main reason why I think these photos aren't recent.

How is it that no nurse or other employee at the hospital as spoke out or leaked pics? If they all believe she is dead too, why not try and get the truth out?

That's a good question that I don't have an answer for. There are some people in the public who believe she has been buried for months and the family is using old photos to gain sympathy and donations. That's pretty farfetched and I don't really believe it, but people who do believe it think that is why the family won't release recent photos or believe that's why they release old photos and try to pass them off as recent. With this family, who knows?

I also heard several nurses on the FB page state that the background in some of the photos look way too cluttered to be a hospital room and that the family would never have been allowed to paint a patient's toes and fingernails. They also would never have been allowed to add anything to her feeding tube like the fish oil Jahi's mother claims to give her. That would be a BIG no-no. Sooo....is she really in a medical care facility or is she being kept at home or is she actually not around anymore?

When you get right down to it, there's no proof that the polished nails are even hers. Her face isn't showing, it could be anyone.

Yep! In the photo of "her" nails painted with the green tips...you can see pink makeup on the white towel. So if it is Jahi's hand.....that pink make-up could've also been put on her hands (the palm side that still looks pink) to make them look healthy. When my husband's grandmother was in the hospital during her last week alive, nothing about her skin was pink. She was struggling to breath and her skin took on a very pale and gray pallor and it kinda shrunk if that made sense. And she wasn't brain dead and all her organs were functioning without the aid of machines. Yet, she still looked like she was already passed before it even happened. The same with my husband's father. Back in March he had a massive heart attack and had to have a heart valve replaced with a pig valve. Well they went in and discovered three of his valves needed replaced and there was a lot more damage than they thought. After surgery, he was put into a medical coma and was put on a ventilator. He, too, looked like he had passed away. His skin was pale and gray and nothing about him was pink. He also had to wear compression stockings and special boots (I think that was to prevent pressure on his feet?) because he was immobile for so long. I can't imagine Jahi would look pink and plump and healthy in her condition without makeup, polish and photo-shopping when others who are not brain dead look like they've already passed away.

I had to wear compression stockings and the special boots when my appendix ruptured and I was only in the hospital for a week. They keep down the swelling and keep a bedridden person from getting blood clots from not moving around. She's been bedridden since December and doesn't have the socks or boots on. How are they keeping her from getting pneumonia? That's another risk for people who are in bed for a prolonged period of time.

If (and there are so many if's here) she was dead and buried and they are still taking donations, it's fraud. I don't know if they could get in legal trouble for that or not.

Regarding the eye pads .... the eye is made up of a great deal of fluid. If she isn't producing the necessary moisture on her own (because, oh, theres that dead part again), maybe they are dried out and shriveling up.

    Hell, IDK.

    Frankenstein-ish.

If (and this is why I don't think it's true) she is already buried, then the lawyer is definitely committing (or perpetrating) fraud of some type and I can't imagine that there aren't punishments for that.

I hadn't thought of the fact that putting polish on nails in a hospital would likely not be allowed-I used to trim, file, and buff my dad's towards the end, but he was born in 1927 so polish would NEVER have entered the discussion. To me, the hands (and nails) in the pictures look like they belong to an older person (i don't know why, but that doesn't look like a kid's hand to me), but also, wouldn't she have lost weight, too? Those hands don't look they have fluid pooled in them, they look like they are attached to a person who is heavy. The feet look like they have edema, but the hands don't. Again, all I have to go on is my experience with my father towards the end (and he wasn't on a vent), but all of his extremities were swollen, not just his feet.

And fish oil in the feeding tube? GAH. I hope mom had to clean up the resultant mess if she tried that.

I also went thru Edema of the feet with someone close to me. It was awful and went on for a long time. They have some medicines for it, but do they work on someone n Jahi's condition?

Don't we have a nurse here?

This is so gross. From an outside POV I could not imagine having a child that is going through this.. I don't think she's going through anything anymore, but still. I am still not clear at ALL about the logistics of this horror show, and I honestly do not want to be.

Fumes? Chemicals? Nail-Polish remover every week? I don't know personally because I'm not in the medical field in the least. That's just what I read other nurses stating.

  32. #282

Nail polish remover is flammable, don't know about nail polish itself. It smells like it is.

We just went thru that too, and the nurses gave us a list of prohibited items, because of the oxygen tanks. Even hair spray.

At one time they wouldn't let you use nail polish because it interfered with the pulse oximeter. But it has been a looooong time since I have been a hospital nurse and they probably don't have pulse ox's anymore.

I just had a procedure in hospital this week. I was not allowed nail polish my hands or toe nails - something to do with they can tell how well you're doing under anesthesia by the colour of your nails

They want your nails clear so they can do a capillary refill test to check blood flow.

I suppose that all makes sense. My grandma was pretty much beyond the point of checking anything when they painted her nails- so they probably did it knowing it wouldn't make a difference in the end. She passed about a day and a half after they painted them.

I've had a lot of medical issues my children and my niece, and I've spent a crapload of time in pediatric units over the years. I wish I could say that everyone who has a terminal child eventually comes to terms with that fact and allows their child to pass with as much dignity and as little fear and pain as possible. Many do. But some ride that wagon so far passed where the wheels fell off that it's hard to tell what it used to be.

This family, I just can't tell. Are they in it for the money? Someone's definitely making money, and whispering in their ears how to keep it flowing. Or is it even more sinister, as it has been hinted starting fairly early on that they needed to get some distance between the time of the surgery and an autopsy to cover up any actions by the family that day (the rumors of the hamburger and the illicit suctioning, for example.)

Or have they literally gone crazy with grief? It happens all the time. A few well- or not-so-well-intentioned people with their own agendas pushing buttons behinds the scenes, and they go from a family struggling with a bad surgical outcome to a banner case for certain religious and political groups.

I can't tell enough to be sure. I know the hospital is about the last place anyone wants to hang out, and based on the information we do have, the mom has to be blinded with grief, or playing out something huge to sit in a room all day every day with what Jahi has become. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Trust me...she isn't sitting at Jahi's bedside full of grief. On the Facebook page they reposted one of her instagram photos bragging about her Michael Kors shopping spree with boxes and purses laying on the bed. And all that donation money is going where?!

On this page, there are more pictures of those lovely little spots of decomp which were photoshopped out.

And something maybe sadder at this point... Jahi's little sister or half sister was suspended from school for choking a classmate. Asked why she was so angry, she replied "because I miss my Mommy"-- the mommy who has personalized @$$-whupping sticks for her kids. What a miserable family. Unconscious, oblivious Jahi is probably getting better treatment from her mother NOW than she EVER did in LIFE !!!

Thanks for the link, the pics were interesting!!

Thank you for sharing. I am so angry I am shaking. Piece of crap mother.

I hope the doctor who's number she posted sues her dumb ass. I also don't understand why you would give a child an enormous amount of unregulated vitamins via a g-tube. The stupidity of this whole mess is still making me shake and sick at my stomach.

Oh and I forgot to mention the glamour shot of her in the sunglasses. That lip gloss!!! That decomp. GRRRRRR

UNBELIEVABLE. I am just stunned at this delusional and obnoxious "mother". Everything about this bitch makes me want to hurl. Sooooo, while Jahi's necrosis advances, she's out drinking wine, eating surf and turf and buying designer shoes and purses??? WTF??? These people are milking this situation for every penny they can....how vile and repulsive they are....karma's going to bite them long and hard one day and I hope it's sooner than later. Poor Jahi....she can't even RIP as she should.
