They were saying Jahar was an accomplice, Tamerlan was the mastermind. I think Jahar will sing, if he stabilizes.

Sad to say, but even with the strictest gun control laws in place, evil people will continue to kill innocent people regardless. Who would think a pressure cooker could be used as a weapon? They showed a picture of the pressure cooker that was used and I have one in my kitchen EXACTLY
like it that I bought at Target (no background check necessary). I have a colleague who is an investigator for the L.A. County Coroner and she told me once that it never ceases to amaze her at how many ways someone can be tortured and/or killed.
I had a gun and ammo show up at my house a few months ago from UPS. Mistake in delivery. And no signature required.

If I were a whackjob I could've loaded that sucker up and blew away half the town. No background check required. Instead I called who I found out it was supposed to go to, he screamed into the phone, "Leave my mail alone!", like a crazy person then sent his wife over to bang on my door to pick it up. She was having a fit too. So I gave it to her and shut the door. Then I called the ATF and told them what happened. Because oh hey, look how easy it is for anybody to get a gun around here with no background check whatsoever. Then I told him about the neighborhood and the ramifications of a lack of secure delivery, who was supposed to get it, etc. I also called the Washington DC ATF office and they were extremely concerned this was possible. They said they'll do an investigation. Good.

My background is clean. Not even a traffic ticket. As for the whackadoodles buying guns in plain brown wrappers that anybody can intercept? I guess we'll find out. I told the ATF I don't need a callback.

The whackos who were the intended recipients are a failed mall cop who got kicked out of Nevada business for being too aggressive and his failed mallcop wife. Both have serious chips on their shoulders about this neighborhood, this town and all forms of government. I'm thinking the ATF will find all that out and more due to documentation that exists on google alone. Can't imagine what all's in the ATF's system but it's probably alot. And I imagine they can cross reference any government database they want when it comes to stuff like this.

The reaction you got from that dude is the reason why I always, always, always send misdelivered packages/mail back to the post office or to UPS or FedEx. Not saying what you did was wrong because it wasn't but I have never had someone react appreciatively or nicely when I took time out to go to their stupid house and give them their package. They always act like you stole that crap from their mailbox, opened it and then sealed it back up. For whatever reason, the mailman is forever delivering the porn and Netflix movies my next door neighbor gets to my house. He got all pissy the first time I gave it to him and gave me a side eye like I opened up the package, watched his porn and then taped the box back up. I had no idea what it was until the fourth package arrived and I looked at the label.

Not that it compares, but the UPS guy delivered several packages of medical supplies meant for my neighbor on another street three times. I didn't open them of course because I looked at the label. I thought I was doing the nice thing by taking them to the correct address but the old lady who it was suppose to go to had a fit and a half and accused me of messing with the adult diapers or catheters inside the package. I was like, "The fuck am I gonna do with that?!? I crap in a toilet and piss just fine, lady!" I guess she thought I was running an adult diaper/catheter ring or something. That was the last time I did that mess.

So.... Little brother has serious throat injuries and can't speak.

Also, I was just reading that he ran over and dragged his brother about 30 feet. Went back to look at the death photo to look at all that red but can't find at the moment.

I have seen this picture a couple of times and each article does not caption or explain it. Is this the actual terrorist Proboscis coming out of that boat or is this some law enforcement officer after the firefight? If it is the terrorist, who took this pic?

The pic is a bit too blurry to tell if those are $900 shoes.

This article intimates that it is him.

Someone posted a link to nightvision pics taken by helicopter upthread. Have a look at that. It might answer your question, Magnus.

Oh and Magnetic, I didn't open it. The dipshits told me what was in it, hahaha. Plus I learned to shoot when I was a kid. You never forget the unmistakeable sound and heft of a large caliber gun and the tinkle clink clink sound loose bullets make - especially in poor packaging.

Right now I'm having the jackass build me a new fence. Mine is almost 100 years old and his nuttiness can't deal with the site of loose boards. So every couple of days I remove a few randomly and he nails up new ones on his side. I figure I'll have a completely new fence for zero dollars in about a month for my trouble.

Off to run the London Marathon this morning . Wearing my black ribbon as a sign of respect and thinking of the victims as I run. Really cannot get my head round the mentality of this at all.

Poor baby! How absolutely horrible that he will not be able to speak. Let's hope he doesn't blow his fingers or hands off because then it would be VERY difficult to communicate. Alas, the "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" clause prevents that as a punishment, but what justice that would be.

BTW, my husband pointed out the fact that the little brother was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. For a Muslim Terrorist, that must really add insult to injury, pardon the expression.

He could stomp his legs like a horse or type with his toes - unlike the victims who suffered traumatic lower limb injuries.
Unfortunately I would prefer him to be able to effectively communicate vocally so as to get info from him. Also it makes waterboarding useless if he has breathing tubes.
We dont know yet whether this douche was motivated by religion or some other reason to participate in the bombings. Heck he hasnt even been proven guilty of such activity yet. I doubt hes aware of his location and I doubt if he was that he would give a flying fuck about the name of the hospital since hes receiving some of the best medical care available in the world.

Well, it sucks. And I know what you mean, I think. Because the CC on Netflix was not only bad but not in sync with the dialogue. Sometimes it was even showing subtitles from the next scenes. Lol. So I chatted with a tech on Netflix and they told me it was my software. When I did an update it cleared up.

Some speculation this morning that his throat injuries could have been self inflicted.

Wondering more and more if he is awake or even going to make it.

Please give a credible definition of Communist-Marxist, and how it relates to the U.S. I for one would love to see the justification for this statement.

I wouldn't think of sending you hate mail, you are not worth the effort.

    Planned? Ugh.

You could leave your house if you wanted to, if you wanted to risk getting your head blown off by a terrorist who had already killed 4 people or stay in the house with a possible whack job hiding in it...There was a madman in the streets. I would want my house checked.

I was watching Attorney Jeff Toobin talking about this. If they never read the Miranda to him, then anything he says cannot be used in trial. I'm wondering if they are waiting till he can physically talk (which I'm reading that he can't as of right now) before they do read it to him. I would think they would eventually read it to him just to cover their butts later on. Hate to see this guy walk based on a stupid technicality.

Forgot to add: If he is never read his Miranda rights, they can still use whatever he states for intelligence gathering, but not for trial.

I think there is a loophole about Miranda Rights involving national security, as part of the Patriot Act that Bush enacted that allowed certain rights to be waived in order to prevent and/or lead to information regarding active terrorism activities. This certainly qualifies.

I'm presuming that was a private sale and it might have been both illegal and in violation of UPS rules. Mail-order (and that includes UPS) sales have been regulated since 1968, and UPS tightened up in 1999, requiring handgun (and maybe all firearms) to be shipped via air and not ground. Even in 1998, shipments going to private citizens (i.e. coming back from a repair) required an adult signature.

Congress acting alone can't override constitutional rights. Either the loophole existed beforehand (New York v. Quarles?) or it's unconstitutional and can be struck down by SCOTUS.

On Friday, my husband and I went to Portsmouth to celebrate our anniversary. We left the hotel just as the stand off was beginning. We took a cab (so we could have a few cocktails ). Anyway, we were chatting with the cab driver, who had the news on the radio. He was telling us that he knows the two brothers who both lost legs due to the bombing (they are the roofers). He was pretty concerned and sad about it. His wife kept calling him on the 5 minute cab ride to keep him posted on them. I felt bad for the guy because you could tell he really wanted to be in Boston with his friends and their family instead of stuck in Portsmouth, NH driving a cab.

Too bad the cops didn't shoot up his legs to the point where they would have to be amputated! Or maybe they still could, after he answers their questions. Dirt bag.

Wow, I would have thought there would have been more blood than that? I heard he was dragged by his brother after he ran him over.

I was surprised to read that he was married and had a 3 year old (?) child. She converted to Islam, I think after she entered college. I think she is currently staying with her parents in Rhode Island.

I still can't believe they called off the search & 10 mins later a resident found him....or that the resident thought it could be a squirrel. Duh. Lol. Ya can't make this shit up.
What did they think? They were just going to let him walk around town? They had NO clue where he was. None.

Saw this comment: The bottom line is that even with President Obama providing all of the assets of the Federal Government it came down to the help of a private citizen!

I wonder how long it will be before they make a TV movie about it? In some regards, it was really like a Batman movie. I don't think Hollywood writers could come up with a plot like this. And now they are talking about the FBI looking for a sleeper cell that the brothers were a part of. Craziness.

There is no way they are the only 2 involved.

Older bro made a really impressive skid mark. I guess he wasn't totally worthless.

Younger brother is unable to talk but is now answering some questions in writing while in hospital. Not sure what he is saying about this tragedy, but I hope he is giving some answers to "why" and if there are others or were they alone.

I'll be waiting for the above (see Ichles' link ) to be well sifted down to reality instead of speculating on meanings of snippets we'll no doubt be fed.

    Brilliant.

I came across one of those conspiracy theory (insert eyeroll here) sites, ya know the ones ...with the "crisis actors" anyhoo they broke up the footage frame by frame and sadly Krystle might have known, if only for a few seconds, what was going on. The look on her face will haunt me more than the wheelchair pic.

WARNING GRUESOME (ignore all printed word, you're welcome.)http://www.fromthetrenchesworldrepor...ou-think/41807

Campbell, a 29-year-old Medford native who most recently lived in Arlington was one of three people killed in Monday’s bombing at the marathon.
Segatore said that when EMTs carried Campbell into the tent, he was struck by “her beauty, her youth and her bright blue eye shadow,” according to the report. She reminded him of his oldest daughter, he said.
He told CNN that Campbell was not breathing and unconscious when she arrived. He said he still told her that he was a nurse and would take good care of her, according to the report.
Segatore said he, an EMT and a physician treated Campbell and gave her CPR for 10 minutes until the physician called her death.
“The three of us who were working on her let out an expletive, a scream,” he said in the interview.

    Beware: very graphic.

This link shows that Krystle was still alive right after the bomb went off. It shows her screaming and reaching for her best friend. Also, you can see Jeff Baum rolling over another woman..

I think the feds should keep a close eye on Tamerlan's wife. She won't speak them but had her attorney speak to them instead. That doesn't sound like an upstanding citizen to me. I could see her speaking to them with her attorney present but to have the lawyer speak to them sounds suspicious to me.
