Here is a site that I kill a lot of boredom with. It shows a map of all the reported crimes in a particular area. With the advanced search you can narrow it down to burglary, homicide, arson, sex offenders, etc.....

On the other hand, I learned at work today that the School of Sociology at the University of Kassel has a Department for the Sociology of Death and Dying. How cool is that?! Of course, the Germans had to get complicated and call it Thanatosociology.
