No wonder the address sounds familair. My sister and I shared an apartment in that neighborhood many moons ago. As in, right after I got out of high school and before I moved to California.

I streetviewed the building and have been in there before. I just don't remember what for. This was in the mid 90's. The business names on the sign have all changed since then. Just inside the main entrance was a flower shop. That appears to be gone. Wish I could remember what I was in there for, dammit.

Really hoping nobody I know/knew was in there when this happened.

Now, that is freaky. Just about as freaky as the fact that the shooting occurred at the same time as the hearing on firearms where Rep. Giffords spoke, urging gun control.
So, dude got away and is at large. And he's 70 years old. What's on the menu? I'm thinking 1) hide in Mexico until dead; 2) get cornered by authorities and shoot self.
If I make it to that age, I hope I'm more chilled out than that. Play some shuffleboard or something, to blow off steam...

Wasn't the shooter later found to have committed suicide?
By my troth, I care not; a man can die but once; we owe God a death.... He that dies this year is quit for the next.

I prefer the term "extra-judicial self execution".

Here are a couple of articles about the shooting victims. One woman didn't even realize she'd been shot. Luckily, she survived. Others did not:
