I think they're kinda cool I loved Natalie Cole doing the duet with her dad ... Genius imo. I wish they were done more often. The chill factor is interesting.

    My New Fave Lyrics

    I Saw The Light Lyrics

I wandered so aimless life filed with sin
I wouldn't let my dear savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the lord I saw the light.

Just like a blind man I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that god gave back his sight
Praise the lord I saw the light.

I was a fool to wander and astray
Straight is the gate and narrow the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the lord I saw the light.

I saw the light I saw the light
No more darkness no more night
Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the lord I saw the light.

So tonight they had a special at my local dinner theatre & it was the Hank Williams story. It was sad but good & the guy who played Hank looked & even sounded a lot like him! I got sad because when I was younger my grandpa used to sing 'Hey good lookin, whatcha got cookin' & of course I didn't think it was a song then until actually just now.....my favorite grampa wojuld sing that line to me everytime I visited him.

So now is his death a mystery? All it said online too, was he died in the back seat of his car.... so 1. who was driving??? & 2. the car crashed??? I can't find a lot of detail....

He had a hired driver and he overdosed on intravenous painkiller. I believe morphine or it's equivalent. He had spina bifida and suffered tremendously with his high demand life. Doctors commonly prescribed this type of medication in those times. Or so it goes. Some accounts state heart failure due to a history of drinking and drug abuse. I suppose it will always be somewhat of a mystery though.

The Grand Ole Opry banned him for showing up standing up falling down drunk. I saw a movie about him staring George Hamilton back in the 60s or early 70s. It was fictionalized, but pretty good.

Look for a song called "A Tramp on the Street". Hank didn't write it, but he helped make it popular.

Yep, he was on his way to a concert in Canton, Ohio, but only got as far as West Virginia before the driver realized Hank was dead.

Here is one of many websites about the whole story: http://hankwilliams.nl/english/death/ride.html

I watched a Hank Williams movie not too long ago. It's called "The Last Ride". Incredibly low budget. Almost laughable at times but it's ok. It just focuses on the car ride he was taking when he died.

It's called Your Cheatin' Heart, I found it on Amazon Prime for $2.99 It's on some of the other free download sites, but nothing I have used or would trust (but I'm paranoid about that)

One of the blurbs I read said Hank Williams, jr did all the vocals, he was 15.

I have just started watching the film, "I Saw the Light." Keep in mind I know very little about Hank and Audrey. This is a two part question for our resident Hank expert Jefe.
First of all, what did you think of the movie? Second question, was Audrey a bitch on wheels type in real life?

I don't know anything about Audrey. I haven't seen the reboot, but the one with George Hamilton was good.

Hank Sr was long gone before I came in to the world, but I can still hear "Mansion on the Hill" playing on the record player every Saturday morning, along with Patsy, Loretta, Johnny... Never cared for Hank Jr, and yes, Hank 3 is amazingly like grandpa.
