According to TMZ, he'd died of a heart attack. Dayum. We're losing too many, too fast.

He was so funny! They all were on that show. I watched WBK faithfully when it was on. I was 12, there was no Internet, no cable TV, or cell phones competing for my discretionary time. I used to try to imitate his laugh. All my junior high friends tried imitating the laugh. We were lousy but it was a lot of fun. RIP Ron.

Can't you just see him standing at the pearly gates waving an arm above his head. "Oooh! Oooh! Pick me!" Wow, this was a surprise. Yet another from my childhood gone. This has been a rough year. Thanks for the laughs, Ron. RIP

Sad. I didn't watch WBK much. but I knew him when I saw him. like in one of the Friday The 13th horror movies he plays a guy who is killed by Jason after he and his friend dig up Jason's grave. and 10 years ago I saw him on Celebrity Boxing in 2002. he looked old and certainly didn't look like he should be boxing.

Not Horshack!!!! He was my favorite!

If I was Gabe Kaplan I would be getting my affairs in order. I always thought Kotter would go before his Sweathogs though.

Also. So many celebs from the 60s and 70s are kicking it this year. I wonder who's next?

Also. I had no clue he was gay. I guess you learn something new every day. *the more you know falling star flies above my head*

I forget who he boxed back in '02. I felt sorry for him then and when he appeared as a "celebrity guest juror" on an episode of some show on the Style Network, I think it was called "Fashion Court". The show's premise was that some un-chic person (usually a woman) is taken to Fashion Court and humiliated on TV by their friend (!), their clothes are mocked but they get a new outfit out of it. The three Z-list celebrity jurors helped to decide if the person was guilty and therefore entitled to the new outfit & makeover. As I said, I felt very sorry for him and I hope that his personal life was happy, to compensate for having to do those awful TV appearances over the years. My condolences to his partner and to his family. Say hello to Epstein and Hotsy-Totsy for us all. Ooooh Ooooh, Mister Kotter !!!

Funny we were asking this question at work today once we had heard about Rob Palillo. My prediction..somebody from the TV show "Alice". Other than Vic "Mel" Tayback I believe everyone on that show including Marvin Kaplan ( Henry the telephone guy ) are still with us.

Darn..forgot all about Martha Raye UGH LOL. Checking the Alice Wikipedia page the guy who had played "Andy" Patrick Crenshaw during the early episodes has since passed on too. Reading the Wikipedia page I was amazed to see so many differences between the TV show Alice and the movie "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore".

Hearing of his death made me feel older. I remember him guest starring on the Love Boat. I think he was about to set a record for "female conquests" and then ruined it by finding his soul mate. It sounds like he actually had found someone he loved for several years. RIP Arnold

My sister and I watched Welcome Back Kotter when I was a kid. I was at work when I saw Ron's death on my phone and my friend and I immediately launched into Horshack impersonations. Then we were sad because all of the kids that we work with had no idea who we were talking about.

I could be wrong - but didn't he "box" Screech from Saved By the Bell? It was supposed to be like "The Battle of the Nerds" kinda thing... I remember thinking "that shit ain't fair" because Screech was so much younger than him. Poor guy prolly really needed the money... =(
