Wow, that's young. No cause of death given
Another one from my teenage years. RIP
According to TMZ, he'd died of a heart attack. Dayum. We're losing too many, too fast.

RIP Ron
He was so funny! They all were on that show. I watched WBK faithfully when it was on. I was 12, there was no Internet, no cable TV, or cell phones competing for my discretionary time. I used to try to imitate his laugh. All my junior high friends tried imitating the laugh. We were lousy but it was a lot of fun. RIP Ron.
Can't you just see him standing at the pearly gates waving an arm above his head. "Oooh! Oooh! Pick me!" Wow, this was a surprise. Yet another from my childhood gone. This has been a rough year. Thanks for the laughs, Ron. RIP
I never wanted to see anybody die, but there are a few obituary notices I have read with pleasure. ~ Clarence Darrow
First Ebstien now Horshack..Wonder where they came up with that name? It said he was found by his Partner of many years(Joseph Gramm )? No Surprise to learn he was gay. RIP Ron..Hope you are OOOO OOOOing at the Pearly Gates.

So sad....RIP Ron.
Wow! These guys are dying way too young! RIP Ron!!! Hope JT and Lawrence Hilton Jacobs are healthy!
The Kotter Curse strikes again.
it should have been Barbarino!
Wow. A tough year for Sweathogs.
Up your casket with a rubber gasket. RIP.

Noooooooooooooo! Not another Sweathog!
63 is WAY too young these days.
Sad. I didn't watch WBK much. but I knew him when I saw him. like in one of the Friday The 13th horror movies he plays a guy who is killed by Jason after he and his friend dig up Jason's grave. and 10 years ago I saw him on Celebrity Boxing in 2002. he looked old and certainly didn't look like he should be boxing.
Holy crap!! RIP Ron.

I guess the cattle really *are* dying

I used to have a tshirt with Horseshack on it when I was around 5. I loved watching that show and he was my favorite. "OOOOHHHH MR KOTTER"!! RIP Ron.
Not Horshack!!!! He was my favorite!
If I was Gabe Kaplan I would be getting my affairs in order. I always thought Kotter would go before his Sweathogs though.
Also. So many celebs from the 60s and 70s are kicking it this year. I wonder who's next?
Also. I had no clue he was gay. I guess you learn something new every day. *the more you know falling star flies above my head*

Bad year to be a SweatHog.

I forget who he boxed back in '02. I felt sorry for him then and when he appeared as a "celebrity guest juror" on an episode of some show on the Style Network, I think it was called "Fashion Court". The show's premise was that some un-chic person (usually a woman) is taken to Fashion Court and humiliated on TV by their friend (!), their clothes are mocked but they get a new outfit out of it. The three Z-list celebrity jurors helped to decide if the person was guilty and therefore entitled to the new outfit & makeover. As I said, I felt very sorry for him and I hope that his personal life was happy, to compensate for having to do those awful TV appearances over the years. My condolences to his partner and to his family. Say hello to Epstein and Hotsy-Totsy for us all. Ooooh Ooooh, Mister Kotter !!!

Funny we were asking this question at work today once we had heard about Rob Palillo. My prediction..somebody from the TV show "Alice". Other than Vic "Mel" Tayback I believe everyone on that show including Marvin Kaplan ( Henry the telephone guy ) are still with us.
Darn..forgot all about Martha Raye UGH LOL. Checking the Alice Wikipedia page the guy who had played "Andy" Patrick Crenshaw during the early episodes has since passed on too. Reading the Wikipedia page I was amazed to see so many differences between the TV show Alice and the movie "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore".
When I moved from Brooklyn to Tulsa OK in the early 70"s, WBK was like a phone call from home for my family. God bless Ron & God love his devoted partner
Should have been Vinnie Barbarino, not Horshack

Hearing of his death made me feel older. I remember him guest starring on the Love Boat. I think he was about to set a record for "female conquests" and then ruined it by finding his soul mate. It sounds like he actually had found someone he loved for several years. RIP Arnold
Well... glad he found love before leaving. RIP Ron!
My sister and I watched Welcome Back Kotter when I was a kid. I was at work when I saw Ron's death on my phone and my friend and I immediately launched into Horshack impersonations. Then we were sad because all of the kids that we work with had no idea who we were talking about.
RIP Ron....

RIP horshack~
The Sweathogs are becoming extinct!
RIP Horshack...he was my favorite.
R.I.P. Ron
RIP! Always my favorite. I was just doing an impersonation of him last week. Way too young!
I could be wrong - but didn't he "box" Screech from Saved By the Bell? It was supposed to be like "The Battle of the Nerds" kinda thing... I remember thinking "that shit ain't fair" because Screech was so much younger than him. Poor guy prolly really needed the money... =(
My Posse's On Broadway
He totally did box Screech and got to do what most of us would like to. Punched him in the face.
I heard on the radio that Ron and his partner were together 41 years! Bless both of them.
Cindy
jeez that's as long as i've been alive. good on him. takes a lot to keep it together that long. real soul mates.
i feel so bad for his partner.
that was a funny show. i kinda remember it in reruns, that one episode where travolta is running around going 'gimme drugs gimme drugs'.. makes me laugh so hard. gonna have to look that up on youtube.
rip horseshack.
I so miss American sitcoms from the
1970s.
Carolyn(1958-2009) always in my heart.
I wonder if Travolta and Ron ever got it on.

LOL. I can see it in my head now, even though I'd prefer not to.
