Cool pic Nellie. Every show he was in he made me smile. Cancer is taking so many celebs this year. He had a very bad relapse and was very ill in 2010 - he fought the battle bravely.

The woman who played his wife was the perfect ditz. The casting was perfect on that show. I'll have to look into his other work.

I loved "Keeping up appearances". One of the funniest shows ever. My brother named his English Bulldog after Geoffrey Hughes' character, Onslow. BTW, I saw Mary Millar (Rose on the show) perform the role of Madam Giry in Phantom of the Opera in London back in 1990. She was also part of the original London cast of the show. She had a beautiful singing voice. Unfortunately, cancer also took her life.

    "Mrs. Bucket..."

    "That's Bucket', (Bouquet)!

I had a rather eccentric friend in South MS who was married to a guy named "Robaire"; I never got it; he seemed like your normal MS country boy; so I couldn't imagine how a couple of redneck parents in MS would name their son "Robaire"; unless maybe they were honoring a family member from the Old World.

Turns out that his name is actually "Robert"; she just thought that "Robaire" sounded more sexy and exotic.

R.I.P, Mr. Hughes; thanks for the laughs.
