    Question re: Post delays

    Hello,

I know I am a newb, and probably not to be trusted (hell, I don't even trust myself), but after every post I make, I get this:

Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting.

I guess it's not that big of a deal, but it's hard to jump into the middle of a fast-moving thread when your post doesn't actually show up for a few hours.

    Thanks,
    JT

It's an anti-spam measure. I took you off the new user list, so you now have full posting privileges. Welcome.

Hi! It happened to me as well when I posted in the stickied introduction thread in the "Everything Else" forum. That was more than a day ago though! I would really like to participate here. I am not a spammer. :P Want me to type out some captchas?! This seems like a neat forum. Hii!

Sure thing. Welcome to the boards.

I am locking this thread because I don't want it to get out of hand. We are all volunteering our time here and the existing system is about as fast as it will be for the foreseeable future. I check the queue throughout the day, but it will usually take more time to get a post approved on the weekends. I am working on an alternative, but we get a lot of spammers here.
