Man that Brazil game was just insane. I watched that game and it was just jaw meet floor. My favorite non-USA team is Germany, and for an odd reason. Their flag. The black, red, yellow flag. And now we have a connection via Klinsman.

You may want to rethink hoping Germany loses Rosebud. I mean I'd imagine there's going to be riots and bedlam regardless of who wins. Better the craziness be bred of happiness rather than anger.

If Argentina wins, the German players can go into hiding in Argentina. They will be welcomed with open arms, and it's kind of a tradition.

I think you underestimate the general prevalence of Autoritaetshoerigkeit (obedience to authority) in the German psyche. We're not dealing with your average Lakers fan here - this is a country where people actually wait for the lights to change before crossing the street.

Historically, German lawmakers have often used the World or European Cup season to pass or announce unpopular legislation when they think nobody is paying any attention. This year it was the adoption of a new federal minimum wage and plans to introduce tolls for both Germans and foreigners on all of the nation's roads.

Still, one should be careful with one's wishes. I predict that a German loss will be followed immediately by a government revelation that they have uncovered another US spy.

Ah, I like that! The entire German squad goes into hiding in Argentina where a mad scientist who knows the human genome like the back of his hand develops a plan to replicate their DNA and rear a generation of German soccer supermen. Of course, in the end it is all thwarted by a meddling investigator played by Tom Hanks. But I'm not sure who to cast as the mad scientist. My first pick would have been Philip Seymour Hoffman, but regrettably he is unavailable. I also envision a role for Tony Shaloub in there somewhere.

The only flaw here is, neither of those teams have players that are as reproductively appealing to a female as the Belgians or the Nederlanders (or the French or the Russians for that matter). \

Germany still has a bit of work to do in my opinion.

Also, I'd take most of the Italian team to town.

Rosebud that is absolutely brilliant. And I have your evil scientist. Are you ready? Drum roll please...... Dolph Lundgren!!! If you use him I only ask for an associate producer credit.

Yes dear, but it's all done with test tubes - I don't think they have developed any reproductive preferences yet.

I'm not certain if Dolph can navigate a script with that many big words.

Well, there's always David Hasselhoff. And Sigourney Weaver could play Her Chancellorness Angie Merkel - unless Meryl Streep decides that she just has to have the role.

And once again the Brazilian squad doesn't seem to have made it to the match - and van Robben looks like he is trying out for the lead in Swan Lake.

I don't know what is up with Brazil, but it is VERY difficult for me to have sympathy for them.

I turned it off before the end.As another musician remarked recently at a local open mike night: "everybody who wants to gets to play, but that doesn't mean that I have to watch/listen to everybody."

    Yeah.
Most of us here in North America prefer to watch something exciting.
Something like a bunch of cars going around and around and around a track, over and over again for hours.

LOL Soccer is a million times more interesting than NASCAR.

Seems like a longshot to me. They are ranked 70th in the world. They probably wouldn't even be there if they weren't the host country.

Russia got a lot further than I thought they would, but now it's Belgium vs. France and England vs. Croatia in the semis.

Shame that Donald Trump's favorite team lost to Croatia.
    (I still hate the shootout)

Think this maybe the year for England to win the World Cup.
(And this is coming from a person born in Scotland)

Russians screwed up not sending tanks or neurotoxins.
    That's a bit uncharacteristic lately.

    to Croatia.
    Croatia 2
    England 1
So Croatia will play France in the World Cup 2018.

Nice victory riots they had. I wonder how much would have destroyed if they had lost?

    being played in France?

Team USA, has a good chance to win the whole thing.

Yepper. I'll be able to understand all the calls and announcements too. Big plus when you're hearing impaired. I crank my sound bar up to, "Cats go to other room"
