I've met a few through my old job...
Britney Spears : Nice enough, not snobby at all. This was during Halloween and she was freaked out by haunted houses and everything, so she was kind of goofy.
Justin Timberlake: This is when they were together, so I met them at the same time. (I was asst. stage manager in Orlando at Halloween Horror Nights, and they were going through my houses at SS22. We had to close the house to allow only them to walk through.) Anyway, he was cool too, he had a lot of fun messing with Brit.
Lance Bass and Joey Fatone: Both down to Earth, very friendly. I've heard Lance is somewhat stuck up now, but not when I met him.
Jeff Foxworthy- Very friendly! When I met him I was pregnant and he and his kids were so outgoing. I liked him a lot.
INXS: Everyone minus Michael H., all extremely down to Earth. I'd say JD had a bit of a stick up his ass but I don't care too much about him anyway.
Aaron Neville was very friendly, so was Billy Joel's drummer Liberty DeVito.
I also met a lot of others through my job at Nickelodeon. No one was really mean, all very cordial. (Kim Fields, David Arquette, Lisa Lisa (Cult Jam) even Christina the Spanish talk show host)
oh yeah, THE HANSON BROTHERS WERE ASSES, especially the youngest one. He was so high on himself it was ridiculous.
and OJ Simpson. He walked around with a cane and a posse of women. His head and nose was so high in the air, it was laughable. He thought he was such a charmer, but I didn't really want to look at him.

OK, I do believe this is my last one.
It is also my best memory ever!
Back in the early 70s my parents were both elected city officials (ok, before you go off on me, no we were not rich - very very middle class. This was during a time when an average citizens could run for office on a couple hundred bucks) so we got into alot of venues for free. One place we always got in was Anaheim Stadium to see the California Angels then owned by Gene Autry.
Now for those who didn't know it, Gene Autry was not only the Singing Cowboy, but he was also worth more than Bob Hope - the man owned everything! So when we went to the ball game, we got to sit in the press box over home plate with nice chairs and a waitress. It was really awesome!
Now after the game they would red-velvet-rope off all of us so Gene and his guests could emerge and take the elevator down first (there was only one elevator). Now on this particular day Gene was dressed up with a whole group of guests and I hadn't seen him for about a year so I yelled "oh my god, it's him .... IT'S HIM!!!" (remember, I'm only 12 and got excited easily) So everyone else nods, yes yes, that's Gene Autry. I yell "NO, it's him ... Mr. Haney from Green Acres!!"
Now for a 12-year-old kid Green Acres and Gilligan's Island were the two top rated shows in syndication at the time. And to see Mr. Haney, well that just rocked. The funny part was Gene was waving like a star only to have Pat Buttram just go hysterical with laughter because he was now the big star. Gene thought it was funny as hell, but his wife did NOT.
And if you get a chance, go to Gene's Museum next to Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. I'm not a big country western fan but this museum (which was his personal collection) is one of the best I've every seen.

Spent about 1/2 hour standing in line directly behind Sharon Stone (she was actually standing in line like everyone else) at a local restaurant, several years ago. She was bombed, I was bombed, and we had fun talking and laughing. I think she appreciated the fact that I didn't bring up "who she was," her celebrity status, or anything like that...just shootin' the breeze. Anyway, it was a great experience with a great lady.
Met the Queen of Broadway, Bernadette Peters, at the stage door after seeing her on Broadway in "Gypsy" a couple of years ago--she was so charming (even when obviously exhausted). Not only did she autograph everything we had, she also let us take a few pics with her and even reminded me to remove my hand from in front of the shutter of my camera (I was a bit nervous)! AND--she stayed there until every autograph had been signed, every picture had been taken--what a pro! LOVE her!
On the flipside, Harvey Fierstein (exiting through the stage door after a performance of "Hairspray") pushed his way through the fans and RAN for the parking garage across the street, didn't stop, didn't sign anything, didn't acknowledge anyone. Everyone there was very disappointed, myself included. Nice guy.
Finally, through my former job, I met briefly with Kim Novak, and WOW what a gracious, charming lady. No attitude whatsoever, just seemed like a really, really nice person--and that VOICE!!! STILL sexy after all these years!!!

Victor French - an angry man, but (I found out later..) had been recently diagnosed with cancer, so he gets a pass
Bob Hope - pleasant, but a real tight-wad, and his "date" wasn't Delores..
Joseph Campanella - calm, kind and down-to-earth
Darren McGavin - my ALL TIME favourite..a genuinely nice guy who never forgot a face
Telly Savalas - was very pleasant...must have been a slow night for him
Ken Berry - drunk as a skunk
Milton Berle - bought me a few drinks, so I can't complain...
Elliott Gould - a real stand-offish pratt
Gene Wilder - cold and aloof off camera
Barbi Benton - a lovely lady
Mel Brooks - "on" in front of a crowd
Burt Lancaster - a private man, but nice
(Composer) Marvin Hamlisch -one of the funniest men I've ever met
For the UK Crowd:
Jeremy Brett - a gentleman in every sense of the word
John Hurt - always a "hello"...the only person I've seen with a fork in one hand, and smoking a cigarette with another
Steven Berkoff - still rides the busses about town
Derek Jameson - pass
Richard & Judy - nice enough, but wouldn't want to spend an evening with them..
John Nettles - lovely man, wish I could have talked to him more...
Jude Law - a right pratt, but that's only my opinion
I have met many celebrities most are nice if they are in the mood. Glenn Close was very nice when I met her at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. David Brenner was a bit of an ass when I met him in a toy store in Greenwich Village in NYC, he was being really loud and wanted to be noticed, he was with his kid who I understand he lost custody of a few years later. Sally Struthers is always really nice, Christy McNichol is shy but very nice. Julie Newmar was nice but has had way too much plastic surgery and looks frightening.
A few years ago my hubby and I was traveling throught New York Ny. when I needed to make a pit stop around 2:00 a.m... we pulled into a rest area. I get out..and notice a limo parked right infront of the enterance. So I walk on in thinking "Ok who's thinks they are too good to make the walk from the parking lot". I go in do what I needed to do start walking towards the door to leave and Joe Pantoliano came out of the mens rest room. I kept walking and staring thinking I've seen this guy on the Sopranos. Befor I could even say anything he give me a dirty look and yelled something to the guy with him and the guy jumped infront of me like I was going to attack Joe. Needless to say the limo took off with me yelling "I hope you get whacked next" Stupid I know but really..there we where the only 3 people in the whole building...no reason to be that way. Maybe he had a bad night I don't know lol
I totally forgot this. When I went to Lehigh in Bethlehem, PA, I lived downtown and Mike Andretti parked in the same parking structure I did and I used to see him all the time and had a nodding acquaintance.
He liked the ladies and I never talked to him other than saying hello because never had I been undressed so many times in 15 seconds. Kind of skeeved me out.
I've met a lot of politicans but UGH how boring?
I wonder when someone is going to come on this thread and admit to meeting Senator Larry Craig in a public men's room somewhere?
Has anyone out there actually seen or met Elvis? I understand that he was a polite, charming, humble Southern country boy in private and never refused an autograph request and just loved his fans. He is Number One and always the King in my book!
can i ask? what is a pratt?
Years ago I worked for a large baby's and children's furniture store in the valley. Jean-Claude Van Damme came in with his then-girlfriend (they ended up getting married, but for the life of me I can't remember her name!). He was showing off and doing martial arts kicks for attention. Then he sat in a chair in the middle of the showroom floor and literally raised his hand and snapped his fingers while calling our manager over to answer his questions. Needless to say, I was NOT impressed!
I know my mom's dad shook Elvis's hand once; said he was very friendly. And back in like the 80's my parent's met Lynda Carter in a mall once and said she was extremely nice.
I've not actually met anyone myself though; no one major at least.
The closest thing I can recall is when my sister, mom and I were at this place called block party standing in line for a ride and Neil Patrick Harris ( yeah, the guy who played Doogie Howser) was standing right behind us. We didn't want to bother him though since he was in his hometown and we figured he was trying to get away from all that stuff. But he looked nice.

â??If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with.â? - Michael Jackson
I only met two celebrities in my life and both are dead now. The first one was Harry Chapin. I won free tickets to his concert in Manchester, NH. and this was before anybody even knew who he was. Being this case, the concert did not attract many people. My girlfriend and I were only 14 years old at the time. Long story short, my girlfriend and I were allowed to go back stage to meet him and he was very nice, as were the members of his band. He invited my friend and I to go and have pizza with him and the band and we didn't go!!!!! We were scared and knew we would get our asses kicked by our folks if they ever found out. In the meantime, he did give me two autographs (one saying 'Harry, keep the change') and damn if I know where they are today?
The second celebrity was Art Carney. I sat right next to him on a flight from Boston to Fort Myers, FL back in 1978. Long story short (again), half way through the flight, he asked me about Fort Myers to which I told him that I had never been before so sorry, but couldn't help him. I did not know who he even was until his supposed 'wife' (short, heavy red-headed woman who sat BEHIND us???) tapped me on the shoulder and told me who I was sitting with. So, of course, knowing that celebs don't like to be fussed over (ahem!), I asked for an autograph and he said 'sure' as long as I didn't tell anybody on the plane that he was on it. I was 19...I didn't say a word...I got my autograph and wouldn't you know it???? Can't find that one either.
Who is Art Connery?
My parents grew up here in Memphis and used to see Elvis riding his motorcycle, driving his pink Cadillac and picking up his girlfriend from school. This was before he was really famous.
My uncle was in the Army with Elvis and was hanging out with him one night when Elvis' father, Vernon, came in yelling and telling everyone to leave and that all they wanted was money from Elvis lol.
My dad was in the Air National Guard when Elvis died. They were called in for security and to keep the fans from getting to the mansion. My dad was in the same room as Elvis's body and George Klein was crying.
When I was little, I met Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke) and the little robot dude from Buck Rogers (does that count?). I also met Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork from the Monkees. Micky was the nicest and Peter tried to pick up my sister who wasn't interested. Also met Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top.
I saw Urkel in Red Lobster once, but I didn't care to get his autograph or talk to him. I saw Hulk Hogan at the airport but he was too assy to talk to anyone.
And for those of you from (or near) Memphis, I also met local weatherman, Jim Jaggers! lol
My Dad met Elvis in the Army in Germany. All it was, was "hello" and that's it.
Ya know... if I were ever in that situation, I think I would do the same thing. I have heard that about other celebrities as well- don't make eye contact.
If I could, I'd look them in the eye and blow them a kiss for good measure. What an asshat way to be in this short life.
I'm still not quite sure about how Tombstone Tourist feels about Steve Allen...
Performing my signature monkey hump move since 10/16/2007...
RIP Dad- 11/14/1947 to 12/16/2013
On a personal note, I did meet actress Morgan Fairchild in the Eighties while touring Europe. She was really nice and friendly and we talked about our travels and this and that and also she posed for my camera. A real pro.
Being a huge boxing fan and as a teenage an amateur I was so lucky to meet George Foreman in Reno NV when he was training at the then Clarion. After his work outs he would take pictures, sign autographs and make you feel like you was with an old buddy. One of the nicest men you could ever meet. Not one person had a bad thing to say about him. He loved Reno and we loved having him there. 30 Miles south is Carson City and a now abandoned casino that was called the Ormsby House. In 85, one night around 5 PM I looked up to see an older fat man walking in with 8 to 10 guys with him two wearing white trainers’ coats. It took a few seconds but I recognized Joe Frazier. I got my wife and said look smoking Joe. I was not star stuck having saw so many celebrities but this was boxing, my love. He was playing blackjack and lost a handful of money. I went to the bar to get a beer and said to one of the entourage, so that’s the Champ. He was about 15 feet away drinking a cocktail and I was asking this guy about him. He said “go ask him for an autograph, he don’t get that much anymore”. He has some ugly ass white guy sitting beside him with rotten teeth. I walk over and said “Champ, any chance of getting an autograph?” This white guy jumps up and snarls at me like a dog and I swear to god he growled at me. Joe said “down Mike, it’s ok”. This idiot sits there growling like a dog. I stuck out my hand to shake it and he just ignored it and took out a note book and scribbled his name. Then he looked me right in the eye and said “I like to F**K white women. Can you find me one?” That did it. I said sure right down the road on highway 50 there is the ********* you can get all you want. “Man get the F**** outta here, I don’t pay for it!” Then he set the pen down. I walked a few feet down to the end of the bar. Within a few minutes there were 15 people wanting autographs so he got up and left. I grabbed the napkin his drink was on and the pen. I’ll have to scan the napkin with the logo, the pen and autograph. He was an asshole but I knew boxing history and now it is in my collection along with an Ali autograph.
When we used to live in the Hayward hills in California (Near Fairview - for anyone from the Bay Area familiar with that area), in the early 70's, my Mom said she remembered when she used to see George Foreman jogging around the neighborhoods out there.
I was a really young kid, so I don't remember that, but I thought that was pretty cool.
And oh, we used to live right around the corner from the Del Rios (in the same neighborhood) - the one son who became a pro football player - I forget for which team.
And also I went to school with the sister of Tom Eplin - who was on one of the soap operas? Forget which one.
All this was in Hayward, CA.
Jack Del Rio? He is now the coach of the Jacksonville jaguars.
When I Was in 8th grade I met Prince (I'm from MN) and I was friends w/his bodyguards (Chick) daughter, anyway he was very quiet and shy and short....Otherwise I've never met anyone else famous, I'd love to meet Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, and many more but they are always the 1st 2 to pop into my head.........
Bill Ward - Black Sabbath. SUPER cool and nice. didn't have to be either...but was.
Keith Morris - Circle Jerks/Black Flag. biggest dick in the world. killed my Jerks and early Flag material for me.
I met Dean Cain, (Superman from Lois and Clark amongst other things)
Man, that was they nicest guy EVER!
Hot as alllllllllll Hell too!
I'm surprised we haven't heard more about child stars.
Sure Danny Bonaduce is always great on a slow news day. And Dana Plato - well we all know how well that worked out.
The rumors I've heard (and these are just rumors) was Johnny Crawford (Mark McCain on the Rifleman) was nice and Dennis the Menance was a real piece of work.
But what about those Brady kids? And Little House on the Prairie?
That kid that played the youngest on Eight is Enough was hanging around at one of my high school track meets. This was a couple of years after the series ended. He was a turd!
Burt Ward said I was the shyest fan he had ever met.
I've heard somewhere that Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura on Little House was a real little snot and the girls who played Mary and Nellie Olson were sweethearts. The Nellie one has a charitable foundation now, I think.
Can you just imgagine the chaos on the Brady Bunch set? All those kids, all pretty close in age, a closeted unhappy leading male star and poor old Normal Flo Henderson.
The nicest : Red Skelton
The pits : The Smothers Brothers ( Tommy Smothers was a real A-Hole )
Living in Central Ohio, we don't get too many celebs wondering about. I have met a few though...
Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits)-Total class act, super friendly guy!
Bob Dole-I was on a high school summer trip in DC (1989) and we ran into Senator Dole outside the capital building. He invitedus to come back later to take a "backstage" tour of the building. He guided it himself. Very pleasent person...
Ted Kennedy-His body guard shoved me out of the way when I acknowledged him.
Oksana Baiul-I was helping a friend of mine do some repair work at an arena where she was to skate later. ESPN was interviewing her and we had to stop working during the interview. My friend and I sat and watched. She smiled at us once. Her friend/assistant was EXTREMELY friendly to us. Asking us what there was to do in Columbus, etc. Had I not been married, I'm pretty sure I could have gone out with her friend that night...LOL
One of my nieces friends got to meet Prince once backstage she said he was everything you described. My niece Becky Syring is married to a music composer, producer http://www.syringmusic.com/?page=about ok so I am proud, I sort of have a celebrity in my family lol! I am from Minnesota too.
ok well...
*Bill clinton and Al Gore- super nice...
*Dave matthews band-Nice
*Jimmy Buffett-very nice...kept getting hit with beach balls his kids would go get from the stage during the show.
*Nigel Mansel ( race car driver) was super nice...helped with a broken paper towel machine when i was a kid.
*Lewis Black- Super cool and fun..Took him bar hopping in my home town in Wisconsin when he was here. We all ended up on his tour bus drinking and crap till 4 AM. Guy likes his vodka on the rocks.
*Tim Reynolds ( plays guitar with Dave Matthews) Was super nice. talked and let my son hold his guitar.
*Joe Perry from Aerosmith. Was very nice having lunch with his son backstage and sat down next to me and chatted it up.
*Marylin Manson- nice and super smart. Definatly smart with the marketing.
*Walter Cronkite...nice..I literally ran into him as he and his wife walked around a corner in Manhatten. He was coming out of the primere of How to Succeed.
*The band Nickel Creek. Chris Thile was awesome and chatted us up about how he loves the Cubs and we love the Brewers. Sarah Watkins was nice and sean watkins must have been having a bad day..
*Brett Favre- Nice but refused to tip us( after washing his golf clubs etc) but stayed around to sign as many Autographs and pictures. He chews Cherry Skoal to...weird.
* Fuzzy Thurston fromt he green bay packers Lombardi Era. Has his summer home in the town I live in and a Bar in Green Bay...and he is the nicest guy and loves the Packers and there fans.
*Hillary Clinton back in the day...Seemed nice enough i guess
*John Madden- Said Hi in passing..whatever can not stand him on TV
*ok so I went to the Packers Bears Sunday night game a few weeks ago. And throughout the pregame festivities at local bars I heard about all these celebrities are in town. Well turns out they were. Demi and Ashton where there..Justin Timberlake and jessica biel....and james van derbeek. taylor hicks...blah blahblah...saw justin and james tailgating in the player parking lot...and found some pics on line...no idea who the random chick is.
Justin
Reason i bring this up is...In the last picture of the random chick and James Vanderbeek you can see Justin Timberlake in the background...Shotgunning a can of Miller Lite...And he is at a packer game...so he is pretty nifty in my book
Oh ya..
*Trey Anastasio from Phish. Was super nice had a conversation with him about ticket prices and article from rolling stone that said his tour was one of the worst.
* Phil Lesh fromt he gratful dead. Nice i guess but wanted to be left alone. Just said Hi.

Nicest -- Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue
Meanest -- hmm I can't really think of one. Every celebrity I've met has been pretty nice.
I met Sonny Shroyer, Jay North, and Erin Murphy when I was younger.
They were very kind. Especially Sonny Shroyer!
My grandmother had a "night" with Hank Williams Jr. back in the day.
He must've been pretty nice to screw her. @_@
JUST TRYING TO BE SUPPORTIVE. FOR THE RECORD, I'M NOT A "RESEARCHER", MEANING I'M NOT GOING TO SEARCH THROUGH ALL YOUR POSTINGS ( OR ANYBODY ELSES ) BEFORE I REPLY TO SOMETHING. SORRY IF THAT BUGS YOU BUTS THE WAY I AM AND IT MAY PISS SOME PEOPLE OFF, BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER MR.WANTTOHAVEITALL WOULD NEVER KNOWINGLY DUPLICATE A THREAD OR TOPIC.
I've only met a couple. John Entwistle was the nicest guy ever....(I'm a total "Who" freak). I had about 15 things for him to sign and he happily signed them all.
I met Al Pacino after a play he did in Stamford CT and he was also very nice.
The only jerks I've met have been sports stars. When I was about 12, I was at a NJ Devils game. They were playing the Capitals and Rod Langway was warming up before the game. Me and some buddies practically begged him to give us a puck and he just looked at us and said "What's a puck?" ...jagoff.
The best though was in the early 80's....my dad took me to a Yankees/White Sox game at Yankee Stadium. I used to like to get there early to try and get autographs. Anyway, there were some Sox players warming up and one guy walked right by me. I forget who he even was, but I asked very nicely if I could get an autograph and he totally ignored me. As he was walking away, my dad said "Look up number 12, I bet his name is asshole." They guy stopped and came back over to sign...go dad!!!! lol.
