I did read the one book about Merv Griffin and his books does seem to verge on the scandals and about people being gay.
The article I printed does not say that Bogart acted on any homosexual urges.
Bogart did have a demanding father and most likely would have looked down on any artistic side, that Humphrey was inclined to show, as not being manly.
I could see where anyone looking for motivation into Bogart's choices might be inclined to look into this
Bogart did have demanding wives. He was also a heavy smoker and drinker.
Lauren got him when she was 19 and Bogart was 45. .
She was a good support system for him.
