    WWE Star Undertaker catches fire.

Reminds me of Pepsi and a certain pop star.

Wow he was lucky! It seems like there needs to be better control and licensing of these so-called pyrotechnic effects guys. They seem to make a lot of mistakes.
This could indeed have been a lot worse.

You'd think Michael Jackson and the Pepsi commercial would have taught people a thing or two!

Not planned, not rehearsed. It's only natural that one proceeds to walk to the ring after catching fire.

OSHA has this covered.. they are limiting the amount of oil they can spread on themselves.

Indeed.Twas on the tour they did with G N R. It was the infamous Montreal show, where after that, Axle threw a hissie fit because he wasn't the center of attention anymore, and walked off stage. Rioting ensued.

That was a nasty video. He was so lucky.
I had the honor of seeing him in Asbury Park NJ we pretty much had
    ringside seats it was great.
What really bothered me about seeing him live is that my eyes were constantly
glued to Paul Bearer, he was like a train wreck you don't want to look but you just
    can't help it.

We always called him the Underfaker... in our home.
It was kinda bitter sweet to see Bret the "Hitman" Hart too.

Saw him in Boston a few months ago at "Decade of Smackdown" -- had ringside seats, the fire is INTENSE when he comes out. Saw this video the other day...He's totally badass for just walking through that and tossing his jacket and doing the match anyway!!!

As a wrestling dork that was watching the ppv as it happened.. Totally not part of the story, or they would have acknowledged it. I'm not one of these people that are like- "NO it's not scripted it's totally for real," either. The announcers didn't mention anything about it, and they would have played that up, especially since they taut him as being indestructible and all. The camera angle was so that even after rewinding and slowing it down on dvr several times, my bf and I couldn't see it. All we saw was him run to the ring and discard his jacket, which was pretty out of character. A bunch of the people at that were at the live event mentioned that throughout the match they were handing taker water to splash on himself. Pretty lucky old fella, even though I can't stand him

I think it's a trip that Paul Bearer is actually an undertaker! I think he worked in a funeral home for quite a while before the wrestling thing happened...

I can't believe he's a licenced embalmer and funeral director.
I just went to his website and read his bio but wow thanks for the info Pryncis.

Wow, I didn't realize he really was a real 'undertaker.' About 10 years ago my then boyfriend waited on him. I asked if he told the Undertaker that his girlfriend is the real thing

I have a girlfriend who knows Mark ("The Undertaker") Callaway personally. She used to work in the WWE (back when it was still WWF). I called her as soon as I heard about this on the news, she then called Mark to make sure he was ok, then she called me back. Normally, Mark calls her before she has a chance to call him. So for him to have not called right away was odd. The news reports were making it out to be that he had suffered 1st degree burns, when it wasn't that bad. It was a timing issue with the pyrotechnics...went off too early.

Sometimes it's nice to have inside sources like this. I can get firsthand accounts/details that you just can't get anywhere else. And it does have its down side too. I'm glad Mark is fine. He's too tough to be anything other. And I wasn't surprised that Paul Bearer was/is an undertaker/funeral director in real life. Just seemed to be right up his alley anyways.

That "faker" just ended Shawn Michaels' career.

    Although I flove Shawn too.

Did Bret win the match against Vince at Wrestlemania?
