Relatives of the Famous or Infamous

Betty Grable and Harry James had two daughters born in 1944 and 1947 so they could still be alive. Barbara Stanwyck and Frank Fay adopted a child. Anges Moorehead adopted a child. Benjamin Bugsy Siegel had two daughters. We know Ronnie Burns just died, but what about his adopted sister Sandra. Debbie Reynolds/Eddie Fisher had more than one child. And, we know that Carrier Fisher has a daughter.

Anyway out there interested as I am in what happened to these celebrity kids?

No, usually children of celebrities want to be left alone for a reason, people think your rich, etc., etc., and think they have a right to ask them questions, personal stuff about your life. So, no I don't wonder about them for a reason.

Question Is Mae West's Nephew still alive?

I am curious to know if Mae West's nephew, John is still alive. If he were, he'd be in his early 60's. I believe he last lived in Scottsdale, Arizona. Can anyone give me some information on this? Cheers!

Oh I don't know. Sometimes I'm curious about different famous folks' kids. By the looks of a couple of threads we've got going here, I'd say other people are interested in them too. Not so much in a prying way. More of an 'isn't that something?' way. Speaking of which, I'm gonna poke around to see whatever happened to Millicent and Barbara Seigel.

    Well that didn't take long:

    A) Not a whole big bunch is known about the girls however I do have a few bits of info. Millicent married and divorced her last name is Rosen. She has two children Cindy and Wendy. Cindy lives in Vegas and is married, Wendy is an attorney and married.Millicent lives in the LA area. As for Barbara I believe she is still alive although I have no real proof and the last know residence for her was in Michigan......

Interesting, I haven't got a clue about these girls--I heard an interesting story, though--one of the James girls was named Jessica, and when she was born Tyrone Power sent over flowers or something saying "from one Jesse James to another." I thought that was cute, as he had recentlyplayed the outlaw in a movie.

Todd Fisher, Carrie Fisher's younger brother, both children of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher.

Carrie's daughter is Billie ... possibly in her early teens.

Carrie's newest book, Wishful Drinking reads like stand up comedy.

This was on a Judy Garland Blog concerning Joey Luft:
Joe is a photographer. He lives in California. I don't know that much about him either. He has managed to keep his personal life quite. I did read that he attempted to get into show business but it didn't work out. I met him last summer and he was really nice. It was really sweet to see how his eyes just lit up when he talked about his mother. He really loves her as i'm sure Liza and Lorna do too.

    Joey Luft

Barbara Stanywick and Frank Fays Son, Dion Anthony Fay. They were estranged for the majority of his life.
I heard he died a few years back. But I found this on one of the Imdb Blogs:

I think much had to do with her experience with Frank Fay.
Her constant attempts to reform him simply made matters worse.
When she cut off all contact with Frank he eventually quit
drinking, returned to Broadway and had a huge success with "Harvey".

Dion himself told one tabloid of the time she gave in to his pleas
and removed him from a private school and allowed him to live at home
and attend the neighborhood school. However, when he continued
to be uncooperative with his teachers he was sent again to another private
school which ultimately expelled him. She feared having a spoiled Mama's
boy, but that is what he was. It seems he resented Taylor and considered
him a rival for her affections. In fact, in another tabloid article Dion
said that in one of their last phone conversations Barbara accused him
of having been the main cause of trouble in her marriage to Taylor.

When she cut off all personal contact (as with Frank Fay) she still
stayed informed of Dion's problems through her friend Buck Mack.
She bailed Dion out of many jams. For example, I've heard that at one
job he absconded with the firm's bank deposit. The company contacted
Barbara and she repaid the money.

There was another disturbing incident which I won't go into
out of respect for his family, but which Barbara found unforgiveably disgusting.

If I had been in Barbara's place I don't know what I would have done
differently. Perhaps I would have been able to cope with this troubled
child, my experiences being vastly different from hers. But maybe not.

I mean---technically i would assume they do---depending on contracts and wills. Like for instance Hattie McDaniel--who did not have children--left her oscar in the keeping of Howard University. (unfortunately it was stolen). but I also recall Susan Sarandon commenting that the oscar cannot be sold and if the winner no longer wishes to possess it then it is supposed to return to the Academy....but hey if i had a mom or dad or who won an oscar I am going to keep that sucker---hide it in a box or something lol

Joan Crawford adopted five children. Christina Crawford resides in Idaho. There were actually two adopted baby boys given the name Christopher Crawford. The first Christopher, at the age of almost one year, was reclaimed by his biological mother. The second Christopher remained with Joan Crawford and died of cancer in 2006. And then there were twins Cathy and Cynthia Crawford. Cathy resides in Pennsylvania. Cynthia died in 2007

It sounds like Todd Fisher likes show business (he's a producer and is designing his mother's show business museum) but doesn't want to be the one in the spotlight. Found an article about him- he's married with kids. He's also active in developing alternative energy resources. http://www.evworld.com/article.cfm?a...=2696&end=2695

I got to wondering about Diana Ross' sons with the Norwegian businessman- they're all grown up now. The second son, Evan is an actor. Picture here: http://cm1.theinsider.com/thumbnail/...ossandevan.jpg Their father was killed in a mountain climbing accident.

Groucho Marx had a daughter, Melinda, who did some pop singing when I was a teenager. I think she had a record but it wasn't a big hit. Wonder what's become of her?

and evan ross, diana's son, is working a lot and is pretty good in this film:

    gardens of the night
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0833960/

An 8-year-old girl is taken from her home and convinced that her family does not want her anymore. After enduring years of horror, she and her fellow victim are dumped by their captures. Now, 17 years old and no one to turn to, except each other they do their best to survive life on the streets, until one day she finally accepts the help of a shelter counselor to find her way home. However, what she truly finds is the love of her life and that you can never go back. "Gardens of the Night", is a haunting, gritty and topical story which delves deep into the world of child abduction and where it often leads...for the "lucky ones.

it's a really good, tho disturbing film. tom arnold as the pedo, is scary convincing.

Debbie Reynold owned a hotel in Vegas where her vintage clothing was on display. I believe Todd Fisher was one of, or the manager of the hotel.

It did suffer financially but was not in a bad location as reported in wiki. It was at the end of the Fremont Experience downtown.

Cheryl Crane wrote in her bio she was sexually abused by her step-father Lex Barker. She has the benefit of a long term relationship with her partner Jocelyn.

Cheryl stabbed her mother's mob boyfriend when she was 15 years of age. There may or may not be a film in pre-production on the stabbing, tentatively titled, "Stompanato."

Norma Shearer and Irving Thalberg had a son and a daughter, both of whom did not like Hollywood at all. The son became a college professor in Illinois and died of cancer in his 50's. I forget what happened to the daughter, but it was nothing scandalous... she just lived an ordinary life far away from Hollywood.

Both of NORMA'S children have died. The daughter, KATHARINE died about 3,4 years ago. Supposedly NORMA was not the best mother; not that she was cruel nor anything on a par with the CRAWFORD legend just that she was indifferent. She was supposedly an extremely self absorbed individual. Both children were largely raised by nannies followed by boarding school(s). NORMA played maternal but mostly it was confined to her screen roles.
There's a story that at KATHARINE'S Sweet 16 party that right after KATHARINE blew out the candles on the cake NORMA gushed and said, "Ah darling, I just can't believe it.......it's seems like only yesterday that you were a baby and now you're a young lady " to which KATHARINE countered, and in front of everyone mind you, "Really mother, I didn't think you noticed ! Please look at Norma's feet. You will see that she is resting most, if not all of her weight on her right foot, and her left foot is only helping her to keep her balance, if it's doing anything at all. Although this is a somewhat extreme example, I have seen dozens of photos of actresses and possibly other women of this era standing in a similar way. You can see pictures of Jean Harlow and others doing the same thing in the "Actors and Actresses" thread.

My question is, "WHY?" Is that what was once known as a "well turned ankle?" Anybody?

Decades ago women wanted their feet to appear small & graceful, hence the posed stance that you'll often find in these old pictures.

Never mind decades ago... it's still happening now! I'm a huge fashion geek, and while I don't follow celebrity gossip or anything, I love watching the red carpet for all major awards shows. Most actresses still do this pose nowadays. It's just more flattering.

Burt and Norma Lancaster had four or five kids. Their son Bill is deceased. He only outlived his dad by three years.

He doesn't look anything like Burt, Mr Handsome Smiley....not sure if this is because of the movie he's doing, but Bill looks like a sad, sad person:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Lancaster

Bill was married to Kippie Kovacs (Ernie's daughter) who died in 2001. Ernie's daughter with Edie Adams, Mia is also deceased- died in a car wreck like her father. Anybody know anything about Ernie's other daughter Elizabeth?
