Insane Killer Terry Scott Giesbrecht Escapes

This is exactly why I don't trust shrinks to keep crazy, murderous fuckers under control...

Canwest News Service Published: Thursday, September 24, 2009

COQUITLAM, B.C. -- A man convicted of two murders in northeastern B.C. has disappeared from a psychiatric unit, RCMP in the Vancouver suburb of Coquitlam warned Wednesday night.

Terry Scott Giesbrecht was found guilty of second-degree murder in the Fort St. John, B.C., killings and ruled criminally insane.
Giesbrecht left the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam on Tuesday with authorization but has not returned. (Wtf? He was allowed out? )
"He has been assessed as having the potential for violent behaviour," Coquitlam RCMP spokeswoman Const. Brigitte Goguen said.
The 46-year-old has been held in the psychiatric institution on a detention order since 2006.
That year, a B.C. Supreme Court judge found Giesbrecht guilty of murder but not criminally responsible after Daryl Esouloff and George Milkovich were beaten to death with a claw-hammer in their apartment in May 2004.
Giesbrecht was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. During the trial, he testified he believed he controlled a worldwide intelligence network of agents using ESP.
He is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.

So... I think I'll take my vacation out east this year....

Wow. and to think my province is taking major heat for mishandling criminal releases. We just have a crappy paperwork system. We don't purposely let murderous psychopaths out on day passes and act shocked when they don't come back.

A police car and a screaming siren
Pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete
A baby wailing, a stray dog howling
The screech of brakes and lamplights blinking

    That’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

A smash of glass and the rumble of boots
An electric train and a ripped up phone booth
Paint splattered walls and the cry of a tom cat
Lights going out and a kick in the balls

    I say that’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Days of speed and slow time Mondays
Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday
Watching the news and not eating your tea
A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls

    I say that’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Waking up at 6 a.m. on a cool warm morning
Opening the windows and breathing in petrol
An amateur band rehearse in a nearby yard
Watching the telly and thinking 'bout your holidays

    That’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume
A hot summers day and sticky black tarmac
Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away

    That’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight
Two lovers missing the tranquillity of solitude
Getting a cab and travelling on buses
Reading the graffiti about slashed seat affairs

    I say that’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Remember the Greyhound bus be-header? He's in an identical situation. Found not criminally responsible, and committed to a loony bin.

I fully expect his keepers there to be letting him out on day passes - or letting him out permanently - any time now...

They had also let a schizophrenic out from the Capital District Psychiatric Center in Albany and he killed a person. There are some that are dedicated employees in those places but the majority, doctors and workers, that are just crap. And I've seen State Psych centers, the VA, county, psych wards in regular hospitals, all of them.

Im pretty sure I dont think that anyone that has 'violent tendencies' should be allowed a day pass anywhere, regardless.

Lets put them around a bunch of screaming kids and clowns. Good idea.

Now that is very weird! I love how it says he voluntarily returned! This whole story sounds like it could be an episode of the Twilight Zone or something.

Without going into too much detail or claiming that I can sympathize with this murderer, I have had previous experience in a mental hospital, and I can tell you that it is somewhere where you feel very looked-after and controlled. You honestly can't do anything without being watched. Maybe once he escaped, he realized he didn't know what to do without that constant direction and supervision. It's a long shot, I guess, but I can't think of any other reason he'd return voluntarily.
