He portrayed Charles Hamilton, Scarlett O??Hara??s doomed husband in ??Gone With the Wind? and he was Lucky Jenkins, Hopalong Cassidy??s sidekick in the last few Hoppy western films. His other best-known role was as Corporal Boone on TV??s ??The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin? seriesHe also appeared as a regular in the TV series: ??Rocky Jones, Space Ranger? (1954) as Ranger Andrews and ??The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin? (1954-59) as Corporal Randy Boone. He guested on many TV series including: ??The Lone Ranger?; ??The Gene Autry Show?; ??The Range Rider?; ??The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok?; ??The Roy Rogers Show?; ??Sky King?; ??The Cisco Kid?; ??Circus Boy?; ??Tombstone Territory?; ??Maverick?; ??Bat Masterson?; ??Hawaiian Eye?; ??Gunsmoke?; ??Perry Mason?; ??The Munsters?; ??Combat!?: ??Petticoat Junction?; ??Bonanza? and ??Adam-12.? After he retired from acting he operated a very successful Ambulance Service which served much of southern California. He married Lois Laurel, daughter of Stan Laurel, and they had three children. They divorced and he married Hermione Brooks in 1978; they had 1 child. They raised horses in southern California. He died of natural causes at his home in Santa Ynez, California on September 1, 2003 at age 84.
