WOW! Great job on the photo archive. Thanks for the heads-up....haven't been to this site in a LONG time.
Thanks for trying. I was awfully curious. Thought something "new" may have surfaced.
Was weondering if ayone might know what this footage is? Raw Footage from a TV crew filming interior/exteriors. I am hoping it is possibly ABC filming for the Diane Sawyer "Turning Point" episode,...
I watched VOD this morning at 5am......forgrt what channel, tho.

Very well said Punklove!! So sad, and SO true.
Very nice photo. Thank you for sharing!! :)
Thank u for sharing your photos. MANY of these are totally new to me. We appreciate it VERY much!!! <3
Feel free to add your thoughts as often as you like. Everyone is welcome here. :)
remember, "no sense, makes sense". UGH!
Ditto for me as well! Thanks... :)
Do any pristine, crisp crime scene photos exist that are in circulation?? All the ones I have seen have are not crisp...very hazy. Any help would be appreciated. And all the crime scene pictures are...
One or the other probably would been OK.....mixing can be deadly, as we all know.
Same here. First movie I saw with Sharon. Saw it when it was re-released after the murders.
I agree with you there. Definitely looks more like Harvey Milk to me as well.
Definitely accidental. According to M.E., normal street smack was usually 2-4%. Janis' fateful balloon was 30-40%....with a jolt like that, I doubt anybody could survive.
There is a quick glimpse on an obscure video titled "When The Applause Died". It is a close-up and is kinda grainy. But that is the only one I have ever come across.
Thank u for starting this thread!! Much appreciated. :D
This is an open discussion forum, so I don't think it would be a problem. ;)
Thanks for the cool photos. I have only seen 1 of these before.
A lot of people do categorize Janis as a "hippie", although she always referred to herself as a "beatnik".....a term used before "hippie" became so rampant. I need to look up those 2 words and see...
I had the same thoughts as you at one time. For some reason in 1991, I played her Greatest Hits LP, and I suddenly "got it". I had never understood up to that point what the big deal was. Perhaps one...
My sentiments exactly. Janis came to do what she had to do, and she accomplished that. Long live Janis!! Gone but never forgotten. A true legend.
in a word: euro-trash. ;)
Just pondering, but do my posts bore you guys? Again, just pondering....what does it take to get in the loop. I dunno....
He was trippin' on speed and God knows what else. He could have uttered anything to stir up the terror a bit, whether it made any sense at all. But he accomplished his "business" very well, wouldn't...
I thought she got life without the possibility.
Forgot that was her character's name in BH. Thanks!!
Hey Kelt! What's the connection here? Curiosity is getting the better of me. Sorry if this is a dumb question...
A fellow Birmingham Death Hag!!!! Finally!!!

That would be Melanoma.
When Bette saw Janis in concert, it changed her life. She also saw Tina Turner the same week. What a week!!! She had no idea a woman was allowed to carry-on in such a way onstage. From that day on,...
"That's why it is very loosely based on the Janis', the Jimmy's, the Morrison's of the 60's. The kids who didn't make it...not the life story of Janis Joplin. It's fiction." Bette adored Janis and...
I have only found one grainy b/w photo in a Faces of Death type video called "When The Applause Died". It was a b/w close-up of her face buried in the carpeting. Other than that, nothing.
.
I felt the same way as you. Then in 1991, I got it! Not everyone will ever "get it", but I sure am glad I did. I was 8 when she died.
ABSOLUTELY stunning photo. Thank you for sharing. ;)

Here, here!! Very good. :->
She's hanging on for the 40th Aniversary. Doesn't want to miss such an important highlight of her life. :p
I think they are rope burns as well. She was suspended briefly, and there was an indentation in the rafters to pretty much support this.
Would love to see all of the footage they shot there. I freaked when I watched this program. To see the inside of that house was awesome. Such a beautiful place...such horrible events. The contrast...
You're welcome! I hope at least some of my videotapes are not ruined. Fire Marshall said that none of them would be any good because of the intense heat. The videos that were stored high on bookcases...
I'm not pregnant, but I have had a couple of nightmares recently about being there that night. Very weird dreams, indeed. And so vivid. Some dreams you vaguely remember. Others stand out and you can...
I have this show on video, and you are correct.
Same here! Finally. Now we've gotta level up. So, start posting.
Same here Kelt. Thank You!!
WOW! Had no idea that this book was going for so much $$. Especially since I have to replace mine.
Sickening that one of the first officers to dicover the bodies remembers that so many flies hard already started to work. Something I never really thought about before.
You're not really missing a whole lot. You can see a good bit of it on Six Degrees Of Helter Skelter. My VHS tape of it was lost in my housefire....to the best of my knowledge. If it is salvagable, I...
I personally think that the people of the state of California has a right to know the health conditions of the people they convicted. Private citizens, I can see not disclosing....but 1st degree...
Still no word on the novel Gibby was in bed reading that fateful night?? Beatle? Kelt? Any ideas, theories, guesses?
