It's been 41 years and boy, we still miss you.
I've taped TCM all day!! Happy birthday, jutes!
Wasn't she? It's a shame what the standards of beauty are. Then and now. I thought she was stunning!
Say, did you guys hear those taped phone calls from her "biggest fan", Wayne Martin? What a...
Great minds think alike! Welcome to the board, John.
No, I didn't see her in "Gypsy". But, I did see Patti Lupone.......After Liza AND Patti..I can die a happy woman.
Thank you!
I'm not happy about Anne Hathaway taking the roll on either, Jack. She probably doesn't even know who she was. I love Anne and she was great in Brokeback Mountain and Devil Wears Prada, but Judy?...
Like Elvis, I'm kinda partial to the older version; she was STILL a beautiful woman:
We are planning a trip up to Westchester later today. We still miss you, Judy.
Are Cindy and me the only ones going to wish Judy a happy birthday? What the heck?
The Harvey Girls is on TCM right now..they just don't make them like this anymore, do they?
Happy Birthday, Judy!
Tomorrow, our beloved Judy would have been 87 years young. This coming June 22nd, she will have been gone 40 years. With that, we are heading over to Ferncliff to pay our respects (I'll take pics!)....
A Child is Waiting is on TMC now. Sigh, we miss you, Judy.
My sentiments exactly..how could you, Sam? I kid, really. I LLLOOOOVVVEEEEE my Judy and seeing Liza at THE Palace this past Christmas was a dream come true.
I had to bump this because I'm listening to side two of Judy at Carnegie Hall. Sigh......
Watch the movie that went along after it, Judy Davis was FABULOUS!
Judy did try "rehab" back in the 40's at a place called 'the Mennenger Clinic". However, it wasn't like The Betty Ford Clinic like we have now. You have to remember that it's only come to light in...
A moment of silence please for Judy Garland, who left us 39 years ago today.
Yes! And little Liza at the very end! God, she was a talented woman. I read some book a few years ago that talked about celebrities past lives and such. Apparently, in all of Judy's lives she's been...
Yes, and tell her a good dirty joke. Apparently the more obscene, the better! Here's to you Judes! <raising Coke can>
That's something to celebrate! I share mine with Karen Carpentar, Jon Bon Jovi, Desi Arnaz, Lou Reed and Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons!
The Harvey Girls is coming up, followed by Summer Stock!!
No, but I want to! That's great..everyone should have a little Judy in their life. The world wouldn't be so hostile!
My pleasure! I'm sure it has that meaning, too. Being the Judy fan that I am, I like to incorporate her in as much as I can.
Amen to that! Are you watching TCM today? Summer Stock is on later! Right after Harvey Girls!
Wow, that's a neat story, Kate! I love Judy and I wish I was born 20/30 years before I was (1970). I missed them all: Janis, Patsy, Elvis...Oh, well...maybe next time.
I was born in March of 1970..exactly 9 months after her death...dare I think? No, I can't sing! LOL. Those tapes are available for purchase somewhere on the net, but they are heartbreaking to hear....
Just a reminder that tomorrow, June 10th would have been Judy's 86th birthday. Lots of movies on TCM!
Nuthin' wrong with that!!
Did you guys catch the Judy Garland bio on BIO this morning? Liza was on before her, but it makes me happy that every once in awhile "they" still give props to Judy. She was the ultimate triple...
I'd love to hear, "The Man That Got Away" when I'm dying....her voice is so comforting.
I almost wet myself when I read on FAD that Judy sent Ginger Rogers a shaving mug after Judy got fired from The Barkleys of Broadway, beacuse she knew that Ginger was VERY sensitive about her...
No kidding, Catherine! Please, if you find a photo..let me see!
I think Judy's body just gave out and in her confusion took her dose (which was large), upon waking in the middle of the night. It was an accident even though it was inevitable.
It's so refreshing to be able to ask this and not be thought of as a ghoul: does anyone know if there there are any death pics of Judy Garland? Or Janis Joplin? When Judy sang, God spoke...sigh.
