I never really found the appeal of this movie, which is weird because I'm into real campy stuff.

I loved the movie. Saw it several times at midnight showings over the years. Always had a lot of fun. Never could find the nerve to dress in character though.

I do remember seeing it in the 70s and thinking Tim Curry's performance was brilliant. To this day, his "Sweet Transvestite" number is priceless!!

I saw it twice on stage at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles, in the 1970's. I was too young to order alcohol, but they let me in with a different colored hand stamp. One time I was right next to the runway that came out into the audience where the "Sweet Transvestive number was done, (the orgy scene also took place on the runway). Frank Furter also 'died' right next to me... They dropped papers with little foot prints showing how to to the Time Warp, at the appropriate time... During the first song, the one the 'lips' sings in the movie, the actress who played Magenta sang it and tossed out pieces of candy... I dressed up for it the second time I went. I still have one of my programs, but my scanner doesn't work, so I can't share it with you all. After seeing it live on stage, I wasn't that impressed originally with the movie, especially the midnight movie with the toast and stuff being thrown around, but I have my own copy that I enjoy on my own...

I guess everything has an expiration date; even camp. Never thought of it before. I never went to the shows back when but I still enjoy a lot of the music.

Tim Curry was awesome in the movie. I loved what he could do with his lips... grrr. And, there is NOTHING like the elevator coming down with the heel of the platform shoe stomping to the music... Tim Curry at his BEST! I love the movie, it took me a while to warm up to it having seen it on stage. (I'm bragging again)... But, I like to watch it by myself, so I don't get stuff thrown on me, and so I can hit re-wind, with my left hand... while... sigh!

I only got pulled into the RHPS Experience, because of the movie "Fame"

Oh YEAH! I love the beginning of Sweet Transvestite - when he's coming down on the elevator and says,

How d'you do, I see you've met my faithful handyman
He's just a little brought down because when you knocked
He thought you were the candyman.

    and then...

So come up to the lab. And see what's on the slab.
I see you shiver with antici... pation!

I've played Janet in the actual stage show twice, but have never been to one of the midnight showings anywhere! Do I technically qualify as a virgin? Hahahaha. Nevertheless, I absolutely loved doing the show. I think my favorite song is actually "Superheroes"...and "Dammit Janet" is a close second. I just love some of the instrumentation in Superheroes.

And... I'm Going Home. Tim Curry has one helluva voice.

Marilyn Manson in Rocky Horror Picture Show remake?!

Marilyn Manson has allegedly announced that he's been approached by Fox to appear in a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Although this is still quite unconfirmed it's racing across the Internet, and since I'm such a huge Rocky fan I couldn't let this one go.
According to a scooper over at Bloody Disgusting through Cinema Confidential...
"In a recent interview with E!, shock-rocker Marilyn Manson revealed that 20th Century Fox has approached him to star as the sweet transvestite, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, in an update of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, tentatively titled Rocky Horror."
I can hardly believe that they are contemplating redoing this film. Okay if they were to remake it then they would have to go in a totally different direction and feel to it, quite frankly the camp comedy that works so well in the original is because of the time and the stage show that built it all up. I really can't see that kind of style working now, can you?
It certainly won't appeal to die hard fans either, I can't see them taking a new version under their wing over the orginal and fantastic Tim Curry. I certainly can't, perhaps on stage yes, but there's just no place on my DVD shelf for a remake.

THEY CANNOT DO THIS...LET'S START A PETITION!!! TIM CURRY IS IRREPLACABLE PEOPLE...I AM SOOOOOOOO PISSED!!!

In Manson's dreams he wishes this movie would get made. No one is buying his crappy albums anymore. Why would Fox want him? He is full of it.

Does anyone that works for these studios have ANY original ideas? They have to remake a classic and of course, screw it up along the way.

They need to leave Rocky Horror alone.

They need the late Ed Wood to write, direct, and produce. Only then would I see this atrocity!!
