    Steven Tyler

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has checked himself into rehab for treatment of substance abuse. The 60-year-old rocker has admitted himself to a Pasadena, California clinic for unspecified treatment.

The former hellraiser managed to stay sober for 20 years before re-entering a substance abuse programme. He first sought treatment in 1986 after finding himself under pressure from his bandmates to clean up his act.

According to website TMZ.com, Tyler will undergo detox at Las Encinas Hospital drug rehabilitation clinic - the same facility where Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss, rocker Sebastian Bach and pop star Aaron Carter will be treated as they make a public attempt at sobriety on US reality TV programme Celebrity Rehab next month.
The singer and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry were dubbed the Toxic Twins for their legendary intake of heroin and stimulants before the band's demanding schedule clashed with their major drug abuse, leading to their brief disbanding in the 1980s.
It has been a tough month for the Livin' on The Edge rocker, whose daughter Liv recently went public with her split from rocker husband Royston Langdon.
Tyler credited his actress daughter's influence for his first successful attempt at sobriety.
Tyler's spokesperson has declined to comment on his current condition.

First of all, Sebastian Bach is in rehab too? Last time I saw him on VH1 he did look like death warmed over.

Steven Tyler - the next Keith Richards?

60 years old is pretty old to be going through the horror of withdrawl. It sucks to be him. Didnt Jerry Garcia die like that?

Celebrity Rehab is such a joke. Would they still get sober if it wasn't being filmed? If I were an addict getting sober, I wouldn't want anyone filming my detox, my therapy sessions, or my dysfunctional emotional outburts. I guess the only difference is they're famous and need attention, so maybe to them doing it in front of a camera doesn't affect their sobriety either way.

I have similar problems with the show "Intervention" on A&E.

    Grrrrrr.

Celebrity Rehab is just another sick way getting idiots on camera. Bach seems to be addicted to reality tv; he'll sign up for anything.

Intervention is a last desperate, flailing attempt by family members to get professional help for their loved ones.

Maybe Steven is going to be on Celebrity Rehab?

I like 'Celebrity Rehab' yet I would think it would very much change the healing process with the cameras and so on. That one guy from last time even admitted he was keeping quiet about some things because of the cameras.

As a recovering addict, I know that the hell that I went through while I was withdrawling was something I wouldn't have wanted filmed. However, if it would be used as a deterent and it kept at least one person from picking up the needle, then it wouldn't have been in vain. There is just something about making a reality show about the DISEASE of addiction that doesn't seem right. I mean what's next, Celebrity Chemo? Enough is enough, don't you think?

Holy shitburgers...there's a show for celebrity rehab? That's an insult to all the normal type people out there with addiction problems that aren't celebs, that are struggling every day.

Good for Steven Tyler! I am glad he has chosen to get some help. Getting this sort of help is always one of the toughest decisions that anyone can make. I wish him success.
60 is kind of a bit too seasoned to be messing around with that stuff anyways. He is 10 years from 70. Time to enjoy his golden years sober and ready to start the next phase of that
amazing life he has already led.

This is my new favorite saying!

My post probably sounded mean. I do support anyone who tries to overcome addiction. My mom was an alcoholic who died of cirrhosis when I was 21. She was in bad shape when she stopped drinking, and after hospital she went straight to rehab and stayed sober until she died, which was less than a year later. She made up for some of the time she screwed up as a mother.

Absolutely. I mean, there's even a show about getting parking tickets now.

I do watch Intervention and it really breaks my heart. But I do agree it's a last-ditch attempt by the family, and that's kudos to them. It is a very educational show, really.

I've never had a drug/alcohol problem, but I would think that rehabbing would be a very personal, introspective thing and something you would not want blared across the airwaves. The whole Celebrity Rehab gig seems to be for people who desperately want money, not their health back. IMHO, of course.

So, he is going to be in the same facilty as the "stars" of Celeb Rehab? That's odd. I thought the people who did any of the VH1 "celebreality" shows were doing it mainly for the $$$$.

Surely he could not be taking part in it too? He can't need the money.

Intervention breaks my heart. Especially the one about the fellow who refused treatment then died soon afterward. It's a horrible disease.

Monday, August 17th 2009 Dude Looks Like A Memaw

Oh, shit! I thought this was a picture of a broken down Ruth Bader Ginsberg making a Strawberry Hill run. No, this is Steven Tyler with actor Chuck Slavin at Pembroke Center Liquors in Massachusetts on Saturday. I CAN'T!

Steven Tyler recently fucked up his bones when he fell off the stage, so I knew he was in a bad way, but DAMN DAMN DAMN! This is serious. Why does Steven look like he wants to give me an apple? Dopey, save me!

Here's a little video of Steven at the liquor store. Steven is a recovering alkie, but I don't think he was buying any of the sweet nectar. By the looks of him, he just wanted to pick up a bag of Brach's caramels and some Geritol.

Gawd, you guys are hilarious. How about he has poliosis?

    "I'm twisted and I can't get up!!!"

or "I've fallen, 'cuz Janie's Got a Gun"

If any of you have watched Jeff Dunham's 2008 Christmas Special on Comedy Central, you'll understand the poliosis joke. I can appreciate it simply because I have the scoliosis half of poliosis. Serisously, I do. And yes, I am twisted, if you really have to ask.
