    Davy Jones

Have just seen this on the FAD Facebook page, and also on TMZ, although haven't seen it anywhere else yet.

So sad if it's true, and given TMZ have been right on the money just recently, I'm not gonna bet against it!!

Apparently a heart attack got him this morning. Shocked. Really shocked and sad too. RIP, Davy.

I see none of the "big" news sites has announced this yet...It wasn't but just a few weeks ago that we learned of Peter Breck's death here on FAD long before it made the news..

I just saw this on TMZ... it said it was posted 25 minutes ago. How sad! There goes another part of my childhood...

Just been announced on Sky News here, and the BBC News website has it as a 'Breaking News' banner. Looking rather true I'm afraid.

    Really really really sad news.

Just saw this on Huffington Post. So sad. We were just watching the Monkees the other day (can't remember what channel). RIP, Davy.

So Sorry to hear about Davy's passing. I was lucky to see The Monkees 2 times....although Davey wasn't my Favorite (I like Mike Nesmith), I feel bad for his family, friends and fans. Lots of memories, one channel I have runs their shows all day on Saturdays. Goofy? Yes...some good music? Yes, even though they didn't always sing the songs, Davey did seem to be a real singer. RIP. Sad Day today.

The Monkees started me on a life-long love of music, so for that - in *my* eyes - they are/were as legitimate as any band.

    Goddamn it so much, though.

This one makes me really sad

He was really an awesome person - had the chance to meet him at a Monkees reunion tour in 1986, Jones Beach NJ. I was 18. He was super nice to me and posed for a pic and autograph. Loved his fans.

    May he RIP

On AOL somebody linked his last performance in Oklahoma I believe it was on the 16th or the 19th. The man still sounded great.

I've always loved the Monkees; ever since I was a toddler who would apparently hang onto the side of my mom's stereo and dance to them! I got to see Davy Jones performing in the play "The Real Live Brady Bunch" back in the nineties. He sang the same song as when he guested on the series and it was great fun.

    RIP, Davy

Very surprised - RIP. The Monkees 'were' the Beatles in my early 1970s youth, when the real Fab Four had given up on being mop-tops & being together ....Man, the replacements were second-rate, but had a good tune or two. Who was Davy? McCartney I suggest [the Tipp-Ex hat wearing heir is definitely Lennon, Mickey D is Ringo and the other one is George]
Also Davy was small, and British. A kind of Dudley Moore ten years before '10'.
What else? Oh yes, he was in Z Cars on telly and was once a jockey.

    OMG! I am just stunned.

Monkees pictures were all over my bedroom wall.

I thought Peter Tork would go first as he has been so ill.

    RIP young fella.

    'The Monkees' Davy Jones

This morning i woke up feeling sad & depressed about Something..I couldn't shake the feeling. I turned on my computer & TMZ reported that Davy Jones had died at 66 of a heart attack. The Monkees were a part of my Childhood too. I remember coming home from school, making me a sandwich, sitting on our red shag rug in front of our RCA color console 20 inch tv watching their antics..Made me smile everytime Enjoy this video my deathag buddies.
