    Six Feet Under

Did anyone watch this show? That was probably one of the most powerful series endings I have ever seen. Imagine if you could only see down the path your life is going to take....and where it's gonna end.

I LOVED this show and even bought the whole series box-set.

And it was really great how they ended the show - showing you how they all lived and died.

Man, now I feel like watching it again - it's been a year since I have!

I just got finished watching the first season of "Dexter" - which stars the guy who played David in SFU.

I know, I kept the last episode on my TiVo forever, it was so....powerful. I wanted to see Dexter but haven't had the chance yet. Peter Krause is in another new show, I forget the name of it. I wish SFU was still on, though.

This show was AMAZING. In my top 5 for sure. The guy who wrote it, Alan Ball, went to FSU long ago and came and taught one of my playwriting classes back in '98 or '99. He had just found out that Kevin Spacey signed on to be in American Beauty and he was really thrilled. That was before Six Feet Under, but I think the guy is genious.

Dexter is pretty good. He plays a serial killer who only kills the "bad guys" (child molestors, murders, ect). Pretty graphic and well-written, just like SFU!

I loved and faithfully watched "Six Feet Under" from it's beginnings. I agree that Alan Ball is genious, and I also agree that the finale was one of the best ever (in fact, in MY book, it DOES rank #1 as the best series finale).
I have been watching "Dexter" since it started and I have to say.. Michael C. Hall is an incredible actor! I was worried I'd see too much "David Fisher"... but what a talent... you don't!

    Same here.

Yes, I was a Six Feet Under LUNATIC. I would always watch the beginning, peeking between my fingers, waiting to see how the person was gonna die.

One of the most amusing was an old guy in a trenchcoat. He walked into a building late at night, in the rain, looking very sinister...you thought for sure he was stalking someone. You hold your breath...waiting to see the victim......when, lo and behold, he walks out of the building, puts up his umbrella, and gets struck by lightning.....

ha ha I was the same way (watching through my fingers in the beginning). There were some very surprising twists to that aspect of the show...

Seriously, though - what better way to end a show than to show us the inevitable happening to each one of the main characters. Would have liked to see Billy keel over, though. I was saddened to see Keith go the way he did but it was cool how David saw him just before he went. And Claire was the hub of them all - who would've known....

If you susbscribe to Netflix, you can always rent the discs. All it took was me to rent the first one and I went and bought the first season discs on Amazon (for $25!).

I liked the one where the Christian lady gets hit by the car after looking up to the sky and sees all the blow-up love dolls floating in the sky (that got loose from the back of a truck) thinking it was the "rapture"! LOL - classic!

That was the best ending to a tv series that I've ever seen! Poor Keith . I still cry when I see it.

My favorite death on there was the lady who was hanging out the top of the limo then BAM! Can't remember what she hit though.

The Six Feet Under finale was fantastic. I have the CD / sound track in my car. Dexter is addicting, highly recommend it if you get a chance to see it! Very well done and creepy.

That was definitely one of the most memorable openings of that show... It was hilarious!!!

I liked all of the characters, but the undertaker intern played by Rainn Wilson was absolutely cool.... He was just the right amount of creepy and reverent.... I love him anyway... Dwight Shrute rules!!! Bears, beets, battlestar gallactica...

    Nate comes and goes

While Brenda definitely contributed to Nates decorating condition â?¦. beginning with banging him in the airport mop closetâ?¦ (and one would suspect, just getting ever more down and dirtyâ?¦ yum )
In the endâ?¦ it was Maggie Sibley (and her excellent underwear) that truly sent Nathan 'over the top'â?¦. Neither a bad piece of tailâ?¦ butâ?¦ to die for ????
    A truly deadly addiction.....

I didn't like the way the Brenda-Nate story line ended. After all they went through, he falls in love with that boring chick. I was almost glad he died. Almost. I loved that show especially Keith and David.

I started watching this show after it ended. We got the dvd's from Blockbuster and I absolutely loved it! Great ending, yes indeed.

On another note, my husband and I were watching Dexter the other night. Dexter sits down at a funeral for his girlfriend's ex-husband and my husband thought that Michael C. Hall should play a dual role in that one. David from SFU and Dexter, lol.

Yes, my husband's goofy but I love him anyway.

This still is one of my favorite shows. The start of the show with a death was very unusual. But, the last program which showed them all made up to match their age at their death was the most imaginative thing I have seen since Bob Newhart wakes Emily to tell her of his dream.

The actor Michael C. Hall who played David(now Dexter) went to a college in my hometown. There is a good chance I walked past him at some point he was in town.(not a big town)

I lost interest in it around the second to last season. I don't know why. I got tired of Ruth. I got tired of David. I didn't like Nat's hair weave from the beginning.

The finale was amazing though, not to be missed.

I own the box-set too. I bought it for under $100 on eBay in Jan of this year.

Peter Krause's new show is called "Dirty Sexy Money." Haven't seen it yet, but it has gotten excellent reviews.

Actually, the whole cast from SFU is awsome. I am certain that Lauren Ambrose, who played Claire, will become a superstar. Frances Conroy, who played the Mom, is awesome. I saw her recently in another movie and she was very beautiful. Her character in SFU was so plain and dowdy, I never realized they were hiding her beauty.

Last but not least, "Dexter," starring Michael C. Hall, is fabulous. The first season was just released about a month ago on DVD. It is totally addicting once you get into it. We live in a very rural area where cable isn't available and there are too many big trees and hills to get a clear shot for Satellite TV, so alaz, I have to wait for all the good shows to come to DVD.
Any day above ground is a good day.

My sentiments exactly! It was always a guilty pleasure to watch SFU and the final episode's bringing closure to all of the central characters was brilliant.

My husband and I found SFU by accident one day and we were sucked in. We haven't seen every last one or anything but most of them. At first, it was so funny...as the seasons progressed, it seemed to get heavier and heavier. The comedy was disappearing. So we laid off it a bit after the 3 or 4th season.

One episode that I remember was about the death (in a tub from electrocution when her dryer (???) fell into the tub...no, wait, her cat knocks it off in there?) of a porn star. At her service, a fellow porn star chick stands up and gave her thanks to the Dead Porn Star for helping her get through her first time going down on another chick by giving her xanax. That was toooooooo funny!!!

Excellent show, all the way around and brilliant finale. (Don't tell anyone but this cold hearted death hag cried.)

I loved watching Lauren Ambrose grow up as Claire and grow into her character. Frances Conroy is stunning in real life, I agree, just luminous. You'd never guess from SFU.

Brenda always annoyed the ever loving shit outta me. Loved her crazy parents, though.
