My husband and I went to Friday's for dinner last night. They just remodeled the entire restaurant, and they had the COOLEST black & white photograph of Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy, and ????? playing pool. I couldn't place the guy; the waitress said, "that's Joey Bishop"! How weird....

Yes, on his talk show. He did at least two sitcoms before that. Abby Dalton was on one of them.

I came straight to this thread because I knew someone had predicted Joey's passing. Harry, what are next week's lottery numbers?

I read that he filled in for Johnny Carson 205 times on the tonight show. I also read that when Frank almost drowned during a filming he sent Frank a postcard that said "I thought you could walk on water".... his passing seems to signal a true end of an era...

Smile Joey Bishop & Deborah Kerr Dead

    Hi all,

Brand new Death Hag here! Nice to meet everyone! I've been LOVING the site, & I've seen these 2 writeups in today's news.

Deborah Kerr died in London today from complications of Parkinson's, she was 86.

Joey Bishop, last man of the Rat Pack left alive died Wednesday at 89, from an unknown cause, or at least in the article I read, the cause was not disclosed.

Hopefully soon once they are investigated they will be on the site!

    Teresa Brewer too!

It came in threes today. Teresa Brewer (singer) passed away as well.
I love to watch old "Rat Pack" footage. I watched the play / show RAT PACK in London back in 2004, I thought it was brilliant. Rest in Peace Joey!

I just about cried today. Not for Joey Bishop, the last remaining Rat Packer, but because he officially ended the Era. They're all gone now. Frank, Dean, Sammy, Peter, and now Joey.

    Camelot is officially over.

Teresa Brewer too?? I remember her as one of my Mothers favorite singers. I remember she had firey red hair and was a little spitball of a woman. So sad to lose these three wonderful entertainers.

Well...you still have Shirley MacLaine and Angie Dickinson. Yeah..I know. It's not the same, sadly.

I saw about Deborah and Joey today. I have to say I was quite surprised about Joey...I thought he died a while ago. Looks like Scott will be busy on the FAD page.
The survival of everyone on board depends on just one thing: finding someone on board who can not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner.

Yeah, I heard there was a rumor in 1996 that Bishop died. I saw a clip of him commenting on it yesterday and he said "I'm sad at how much I will miss myself".

Very sad to see this era come to an end.

Joey Bishop was in the best movie ever made, Valley of the Dolls as the MC at Neely's telethon. You know, the one where she's singing and gyrating her torso and her double-stranded necklace separates and the strands each cup one of her breasts mid-song. Classic! Every 15 years or so, we get a classic, Valley of the Dolls, Mommie Dearest, then Showgirls. We're overdue for a fourth in the series. Black Dahlia might do it, that was camp over the top.
And of course, VOTD gives us the link to Sharon Tate as well.

Country singer Porter Wagoner is in the hospital seriously ill. Andy Griffith
is getting up there and Charlton Heston has Alzheimers in it's last
stages. I just read Nick's commentary. This really should go in another
    category.

It was just reported that Joey Bishop was cremated today, October 21, and his ashes will be spread at sea. The news didn't mention any services.

Once read a book on Bishop. Also seen him interviewed and on 'What's my line?'. He came across as an annoying arrogant jerk (just like Sinatra). Out of the ratpack I liked Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin! The rest seemed like they needed bitch-slapping!

Watched an episode of "The Will: Secrets Revealed" on him a few nights ago... Pretty good - didn't know about the drama that surrounded him and his only child, etc....
