I think ol' Chuckie is happy where he is. I seem to remember serveral quotes that Bugliosi used in "Helter Skelter" where Manson did not want to be released the FIRST time he was out, in the '60's before he started "The Family". He adapts to whatever situation he is in and I think as he once said, prison is the only real home he's ever known.

I was always interested in his study of Scientology at one point when he was younger. He may not be the smartest tool in the drawer, but he knows how to manipulate and I've always felt that he was smart in that sense. Makes me wonder what he might have become had his "powers" been used for good and not evil.

Bottom line, he's not interested in getting out and I don't believe he ever was. The parole hearings he DID attend were just a platform to spread more of his vitriol...just as was his statement in court when he was on trial for Tate-LaBianca.

pre 1967 charles manson interview and singing in studio.interesting hearing Creepy Charlie giggling. lots of talk of hate and killing in this interview.

"This short interview origins from the demo sessions during 1967 when Manson was still a free man.
He had been released from prison six months prior to the recordings.

After the interview two tracks from the same session are featured: Run For Fun and The House of Tomorrow.
Everything can be found on the CD named The Summer of Hate '67 Sessions; no one besides Charles Manson himself holds the true copyright to this
    material."

As you all know, Charlie don't like to be cheated...

oh this is interesting. a Charlie Manson Beach Boy Documentary. about 90 minutes long. actually, pretty good. Creepy ass story about Dennis Wilson waking up one morning to find himself surrounded by a bunch of Manson Family members all holding knives. Then the Family slinks away laughing maniacally.
yikes, that would be a hell of a Jedi Mind Trick to screw with your head...might even keep you silent from what you know. another reason to respect Doris Tate and Stephen Kay for being willing to repeatedly go up against these cretins.

Very interesting, I've never heard of these before. I can see how engaging this monster could be, and how he was able to captivate his "family".

it's not wrong to mock monsters. I love the video you posted.

i will say that back in the day, Charlie's 'Look at your Game Girl' has a quality to it.

I agree with Neil Young that Charlie had talent.

Did you all follow the Matthew Roberts Saga in which CNN DNA tested him and a known Manson relative to determine if Roberts was the son of Charles Manson?

in my Maury Povich impersonation: Charles Manson you are NOT the father...

    Wow... just wow!

You know, I don't think A. Hitler actually killed anyone by his own hand (except himself, and I'm gonna give him a pass on that) but I wouldn't want him roaming around, either.

God, that's such a tired argument, and it's always brought on by someone who just wants to stir up some shit. I've heard so many stupid people saying, "But he didn't kill anyone!" Oh come on.

There have been people who have influenced me in my life, who have made me re-think my sense of right and wrong. Thankfully, Charlie Manson wasn't one of those people. But they're dangerous because they're so good at it. Manson is as much a murderer as Dahmer or Gacy was. I'm sick of people acting like he's some kind of misunderstood prophet or something.

Granted, he didn't have much of a chance; he grew up in a terrible environment. But I can't help that, and people capable of what he is, that can do what he did, should be put away until they're dead. I can see why a teenager might be so obtuse as to suggest otherwise, but grown folks? Really?

Kind of preaching to the choir here, didn't mean to. But it scares the hell out of me for someone to argue that he needs to be out. Fine, you keep him in your house, then. Also, from what I see in his interviews, he's an absolute loon. Who the hell would follow THAT?

Do you know what's truly scary? I honestly wonder if today he would have been let out or got off scott free because "technically" he didn't have any blood on his hands. People talk about how far we've come and how backwards folks used to be, but I think our ability to recognize true evil has waned over the years.

I would really like to be able to take him back to early childhood and have him brought up in a good home just to see if the whole nature or nurture question is true. He was getting good reports at one time when he lived with a grandparent i believe, and we will never know if it was his upbringing and constant neglect and upheaval that made him what he is or whether he was innately evil. I know we can't always blame our childhood but that's usually said by people who got a bedtime story every night and were never sent into the other room while your mammy entertained clients.

I'm just watching "The Six Degrees of Helter Skelter" and cleaning the house (as you do...!), and it just reached the part where Scott is at Spahn Ranch, and found the cave that the nine family members posed in. They showed the original picture, and then it morphed into Scott sitting there (in the spots where Squeaky and Sandy Goode were squatting), which was kind of cool! Anyway, I always wondered who all nine people in the photo were. I can only recognize Squeaky and Sandy Goode 3rd and 2nd from right. Is that Ruth Ann Moorehouse on the far right (Ouisch?). And I'm guessing the guy in the middle in the vest is Tex Watson. I searched the interwebs to no avail. I've seen the picture, but not labeled.

A Biker named Al Springer, a Leader in the Straight Satans was interviewed for a number of hours by the LAPD.
Very fascinating insights into what Charlie like.

"On Wednesday, November 12, 1969 an officer from the Venice Police Department placed a phone call to the Parker Center and asked if homicide detectives wanted to talk to Al Springer. Springer, a member of the Straight Satans motorcycle club – and friend of Danny DeCarlo – had some interesting information about a guy named Charlie and the Tate / LaBianca murder.Sergeants Frank Patchett and Manuel “Chick” Gutierrez brought Springer to the Parker Center, sat him down in an interrogation cubicle and hit the record button. In this portion of the interview, made at Parker Center in downtown Los Angeles, Springer tells Patchett and Gutierrez about the 1 percenters, his visits to Spahn Ranch and Devil’s Canyon, and how Manson bragged to him about killing rich people."

    Charlie doesn't burn.
When you lose a parent you lose your past. When you lose a spouse you lose your present. When you lose a child you lose your future.

    Nine Inch Nails--Gave Up

Trent Rezner, front man of Nine Inch Nails rented the cielo house in the early 90's and recorded the album "The Downward Spiral" there. He converted the living room where the murders took place into a studio. This video from the song "Gave Up" was recorded there.

A little macabre fact, when Reznor moved out he took the "Pig" door with him.
