I can't believe it, but I think I missed this one...I thought I'd read every entry at least once! Wow...I'd like to see those crime scene photos myself. Poor guy!

I hadn't heard of this murder previously either, however Scott's story on this guy is downright bizarro.
Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong psycho junkie lurking in your backyard! Poor guy, not a pretty way to go.
Thanks Scott for the info on this one, fascinating story....

I remember when this one popped on the site and was totally floored! What a twisted little freak this guys was. Poor Lees just wanted to get old in peace and the neighbor. My GOD!

Ugh, to cut off a head! Terrible. I've seen that footage of them doing that somewhere in the mideast and you'd think it'd be a lot harder than it actually appears. What terror Lees and Engelson must have gone through in their final moments. What was that someone told me, some Star Trek episode involved punishment for murder by putting the victim's final moments into the memory of the perp. Okay, I don't know what show or film that was but this fucker really should have something like that happen to him.

I don't mean to make light of it REALLY as it is a horrific, ghastly, cold blooded murder

But did you see where Scott said "Mr Blankie"? when he was referring to Lees' body being covered. Sorry, I laughed, couldn't help it, but NOT at the actual crime!

Its Scott being a Snarkyshark that makes his website so much fun.

https://youtu.be/cexsQxxaDlE I had the opportunity to interview the woman, Helen Colton, who discovered Lees' corpse sans the head

Just listened to it.....she us a wealth of knowledge....maybe hire her for the tour
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

I listened, too. Amazing. That lady sounded like she had an awful lot on the ball for 96 or whatever she was. It also sounds like she was a death hag before there were such things! I hope, Scott, you actually got to meet and spend time with her before her death. I would have loved to hear all of her stories.
