It came out last May. Terrible. I was surprised since Frances Cobain was a producer.

It was tabloid all right. I don't know enough about the circumstances to tell what is bull and what isn't.

I am open to the murder theory, just surprised Frances somewhat endorsed it (IMO). Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever know for certain.

I don't think we will either, and yes, I am open mined about the murder vs suicide. Somethings don't jib.

It was interesting for sure. I've leaned towards murder for a long time now and this documentary was pretty compelling to me. The one thing above all that rings in my mind is how does someone ingest that much heroin then are able to pick up a shotgun and shoot themselves. Maneuvering a shotgun to point it at your own head and pull the trigger is awkward at the least so trying to do it when you've injected enough heroin to kill a horse....... I just don't buy it. I don't think we'll ever find out the truth because the Seattle police don't want to reopen the case because that would be admitting that they screwed up the crime scene.

Actually, you're thinking of "Montage of Heck" that came out on HBO and Frances was executive producer. Both are worth seeing. "Soaked in Bleach" was basically all the info that the private investigator (Tom Grant) had accumulated since the moment Courtney hired him to find Kurt after he escaped rehab.

hi all! just been busy.....glad to see the thread didn't drop into the neither regions!
true FBC was an executive producer on MOH.
don't get me started on "soaked in bleach"
it's a rehash of tom grants website.

Im glad you pointed that out! I was reading through the thread thinking she cannot have had anything to do with Soaked in Bleach. Surely!

    Both were very interesting!
I particularly liked how they used the phone call recordings of Courtney in SIB.
I had never thought a murder theory possible until seeing this, now I'm torn!

I agree, the "supposed" suicide note is very suspicious to me. The whole story never sat right with me. Poor Kurt, he was a tormented soul, very sad...

The thing that really got me about Soaked In Bleach is that Tom Grant really seems to be doing this because he feels bad that Kurt was murdered and then portrayed as a suicide. I actually got the impression than more than for the money or fame, he just wants justice because he believes in right from wrong.

At least that's the impression I got from it.
Very compelling when you look at everything together like that.
Add Kristen Pfaff's suspicious death just a couple months after Kurt's and it really gets sad.

I liked Nirvana. I was 16 when he died, it was the music going on at that time in my life. What I like even more is I worked a job with some 20 something's (good kids, funny, hard workers) and one of them asked me "what was it like?"
"I mean you were there Melissa, when it all happened! You got to listen to them as they released albums!"

I never thought of it that way, but it made me really grateful that I got that chance.

I found the documentary compelling. In fact, when I heard the tapes of Courtney Love talking to Tom Grant; and especially the taped recording of Courtney & Kurt's LAWYER and Frances Bean's GODMOTHER talking to Tom about how Kurt was divorcing Courtney and was NOT suicidal, I felt like I might be sick. The last piece of evidence which has my attention and points to murder is the gun - pointed upside down, the barrel in a death grip in Kurt's left hand, and the ejected shell casing being on the WRONG SIDE...

he held the gun upsidedown. and the shell casing rolled to that side.
mind you, why would he be holding the gun in a "deathgrip' and have injected himself besides. because he wanted to be sure?
he'd had at least 6 witnessed overdoses in a year. witnessed by other people not just courtney.
    either way, Kurt's gone.

Its pretty suspicious if you ask me. I watched "Soaked in Bleach" again this week and I remember one medical examiner say if you wanted to kill someone and get away with it, kill an addict. Its the perfect crime. I don't know much about heroin but from what they say, he had more than three times a lethal amount in his system. Does that mean he would have actually had to load and use a syringe three times?

JMHO, but it would have been easier just to let Kurt die of an overdose. no one would have blinked twice. why go to all that rigmarole?
no, it's the amount of black tar heroin dissolved in water.

Thanks for the info about heroin. I totally agree. I've heard of "hot shots," so if they wanted to do him in, I would think that would be sufficient. However, if he did have that much in his system - especially after being in detox for a few days before his death, he had a super human tolerance.

Since he was gripping the shotgun, I'm wondering if he was there with someone else threatening to do it and things got out of hand? Just trying to think of any scenario. I can't imagine someone he knew leaving him up there like that. Courtney did end up paying the bills of the guy (for a few years) who assisted the private detective and she did get him wasted before he was due to talk to him. That seems odd if she really did want information.

yeah. and here I thought right along it was destroyed. it was the rest of his guns that were destroyed. the ones from the "domestic" thing in march.
tom grant has rode that pony, saying that "courtney and the SPD destroyed evidence". and the damn gun was sitting in evidence the whole time.
and what did tom say....."so I was wrong on ONE THING".....ass hat.
April is coming.......and the seattle police release more charming photos. I despair.
better pics.....the way I want to remember kurt.

WELL. the rumor is that Frances bean cobain has filed for divorce from Isaiah silva.
    well well well.
been together since she's been 17....and she's 23 now. and just MARRIED the dude september 24th last year!
methinks mr. money grabber has been busted.
either way it's all over the net.
mind you...the mis information is rampant. that "she married Isaiah in 2014"....not.
and that she's trying to keep him from getting kurt's estate.
number one, frances inherited a 1/3 of kurt's estate. ONE THIRD.
she didn't "make" the money during the marriage.
so I imagine her flesh eating lawyers will tell him to pound sand.
and this "irreconcilable differences". she lived with the dude since 17!
    what couldn't she have known?
    either way, honestly. good riddance.
have you ever just seen someone that hits that wrong nerve? well that's Isaiah with me.
either way, this girl could do BETTER.

twenty two years ago. Rest in Peace, Kurt.
a note I put up over at tumblr.
    so Kurt….
    here we are again. april.
    22 years ago, you left.
    died, whatever.
    22 aprils
    and the “courtney killed kurt”
    thing still rages on.
this past year, “Montage of Heck” premiered.
Frances did a great job on it. you would
    be so proud of her.
and she shucked that husband of hers. THAT
I believe , WOULD please you.
    unfortunately, tom grant also released
    “soaked in bleach”.
and that’s all I’m mentioning THAT.
I like to think, that you would be happy with the new generation of fans
that you and NIRVANA have. probably surprised also.
and they aren’t just interested because of your death.
they love the music, and know a lot about it. and want to
    know more!
the blog goes on. and the asks. mostly about you.
I imagine THAT amuses you, where ever you are. as courtney said
“he knew he was the shit”
I wish i knew what possessed you that april.
things were bad, that’s true. but they always get better.
krist still maintains that you were loaded on heroin. dave thinks the same.
    either way, you’re gone.
what would you be doing today? art? producing? both?
    joint art shows with Frances?
    hard to say.
    I miss you everyday.
I ought to box those ears.
see you on the flip side.
hopefully you found the peace you never had here. no pain , no addiction,
    no unhappiness.
hug mom for me, and keith.
    I remain always

wonder why Frances calls him Kurt not dad. Sorry if this was mentioned already. Even I would call my dad 'dad' even if I was 2 when he died

Some rebellious kids do this when they feel they've been neglected and let's face it, Frances was neglected.

no doubt. and she grew with people referring to "kurt". she has called kurt "my dad" and "my father" on twitter. I had a girlfriend growing up, that called her parents their given names.
no drama.....it was just her. either way.
frances has kicked that loser husband of hers out. good riddance .

i love Kurt Cobain and his death is sad and horrible, i can't stand Courtney but i don't think she killed Kurt. i've seen Soaked in bleach, it was an eye opener but still doesn't prove the murder theory i don't know if this is post before but this site disproves Tom Grant and all the ''facts'' in soaked in bleach . http://soakedinbullshit.tumblr.com/

Phineas117 I love your posts; keep up the great work.

Frances has matured into a beautiful young woman; Kurt would be proud.

The guitar in question is reported to have been insured at $1.3 million and is worth possibly even more, so no wonder she wants it back. He's claiming it was a "wedding present". Courtney made a statement saying that the guitar is "a treasured family heirloom" and "not his to take". You can tell this is going to turn into some nasty he said, she said shit.

I just find it odd that she would give him THAT guitar. there are several of kurt's electrics still in storage. but this one, worth so much, besides iconic.
if he can't come up with witnesses that saw the gift being made.....i think he's on the losing end. this post, these aren't photos. they are drawings, and really well done.

That's just it, common sense dictates that she wouldn't give him such a significant and valuable guitar but on the flip side, people make grand gestures when they believe they are in love, so I'm undecided on this. From his point of view though, even if she did allegedly gift it to him, it's such an important piece of music history that it's a dick move for him to keep it. It just makes him look like a desperate wannabe out for what he can get now the relationship has gone south.
