I love this flic.It really brings back memories.being forced to sit on some rummy in santa drags lap is a precious childhood memory. Funny ass movie. One of the biggest things as a kid back then was the sears christmas catalog. I swear the toy section was 3 inches thick.

There's a sequel to this movie that not a lot of people know about.

It's called "It Runs in the Family" and it was directed by Bob Clark and written by Jean Shephard. Mary Steenburgen plays Mrs. Parker, Kieran Culkin plays Ralphie, Christian Culkin plays Randy, and Charles Grodin plays Mr. Parker. It's about the Parkers as they go on Summer vacation.

Horrible movie, which is why I don't think a lot of people have seen it.

Seems someone bought the house and restored it to as it was in the movie and also created the inside to match the sets.

There's also another one; Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss:

I really enjoyed it. It takes place some years later than Christmas Story, as Ralph (played by Jerry O'Connell) gets his first summer job (moving fridges with Flick and Schwartz). The family dog runs away (the dog's name is Fuzzhead), and they go on a road trip.
I haven't watched it in eons, so I don't know that I'd still like it now, but it's certainly worth a watch.
