Eddie MoneyEddie -- born Edward Joseph Mahoney -- was born in Brooklyn. He came from a long line of family members who served with the NYPD. He himself was on the force for 2 years ... before ditching NYC in 1968 for California to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a rock star.
Money worked the local clubs in Berkeley before he was signed to Columbia Records in 1976. His self-titled debut album earned double-platinum success. The album also included some of his classic hits ... including "Two Tickets to Paradise." His career spanned more than 4 decades and he sold over 28 million records.

Moved your second thread about him here not sure if your double post was an accident, and combined them together as they are less than thirty mins apart.

Cancer Sucks.
RIP Eddie.

They are saying it was from complications from his recent heart valve replacement surgery and not the cancer.
He had several songs I really liked. RIP.
Wow. That went from bad to dead fast.
Stay in Drugs. Eat your School. Don't do Vegetables.
RIP, Eddie.

Thank you for deleting the duplicate. It was an accident!
Poor Eddie had some serious health issues.
I remember a friend from Long Island going on in the '80s about how lame he was because he was a former cop. She wasn't a lawbreaker, so that never made sense to me.
.
One of my cousins used to talk about him alot. Cancer sucks!!!!!!! My one wish (besides world peace) is that they would find a cure for this awful disease before it kills everybody!!!!

We attended his show in January at a local casino, He looked terrible but we chalked it up to age and touring. RIP.
Wanna see my grandkids?
I remember when “Take Me Home Tonight” was constantly in rotation on MTV and the radio. All of my mixtape favorites are fading away.
RIP, Eddie.
Eddie was a cop for a few years before music took over which although catchy never progressed any further than Huey Lewis. RIP
