Winds of War and Rememberance were very popular books at the time. Robert Mitchum starred in a tv-movie series of Winds. Wouk also wrote Marjorie Morningstar and the book turned into a movie for Natalie Wood. His style of writing was very engaging but he had a pre-1960s view of women.
