RIP. Paul.
I figured it would have been a virus.
The Blue Screen Of Death comes to us all.
A faulty hypothesis forming:
A German scientist using Iranian physics and French mathematics.
No money could save him
So he laid down and he died
Just made me think of this for some reason.
Wasn't such a lucky man, after all.
Stay in Drugs. Eat your School. Don't do Vegetables.
It's funny that everyone is lauding him as being charitable, because Peter Singer used to give him as an example of a super-wealthy billionaire who just wanted to spend his dough on expensive toys like professional sports teams. At some point he became aware of Singer's critique, and said he would give away a lot of his money. So I wonder if all the "giving" is a more recent phenomenon.
Whenever I have my students read "The Singer Solution to World Poverty," I show them a photo of Allen's yacht "The Octopus," which allegedly cost a quarter of a billion dollars. Note the helipad at the front to give a sense of scale. There's another helipad at the rear, I believe. Can't have too many helipads!
Sincerely yours,
Upset
