Ride The Ducks Boat Branson Mo 17 Dead

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...i-lake-n893011 When I lived In Springfield,Mo I would go to Branson a lot and rode one of these, I have relatives there. Not sure why they were out in bad weather normally they listen to forecasts and if it sounds bad they don't take the boats out.

Is it just me or do those things seem to be a tad unstable?
I seem to recall four or five such accidents involving duck boats over the last ten years or so.

Something similar happened in my home town three years ago. Thankfully no one died - but that's because there were boats nearby who helped with rescue. I reckon these boats are unstable. This latest capsize is so very sad.

In Missouri the weather can and does get very bad they start warning people to take shelter or prepare to hours before a storm hits, the ducks ride used to and I think is still supposed to not run on those days, I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of law suits especially the family of the nine members of family that died, breaks my heart that children were among the dead.

A duck boat survivor said the captain told
them when they came on the boat.
    (Don't worry about life jackets.)

We need more to this sad story.

the family took a picture just before the ride. I count 11 in the photo. Nine are now dead.

    Holy crap; that's devastating.
I used to date a girl who survived a van crash that killed 8 of her family members.

She had terrible "survivor's guilt" and major depression.

When I was a little girl we lived in a house below a really sharp curve. One day Mama was out in the yard when a car loaded with six guys (we found out later) came zooming by and didn't make the curve. All of those boys were thrown to their deaths. Mama never got over it.

I remember when I did the ride the ducks ride, we were told to put on our life jackets, if we didn't we were told we can get off the ride and that it wouldn't budge until everyone put them on, I can't see the Captain, telling them not to put on lifejackets.

This scenario happened in my home town in the 80's. It was a sharp curve and they hit an oak tree. They were going so fast it ripped the car in half and the rear half of it landed in the golf course. All 6 boys went to my high school.
