Bout time. RIP
Say what you will about him, Playboy magazine had some of the best articles and stories that were ahead of the times. The pictorials were nice to look at when not reading those articles and stories ! RIP Hugh.

Today you could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness.
From what I have read his health was very bad. RIP.
As a teenager, Hefner gave me my first opportunity to examine a naked girl slowly, of at least until my parents caught me. As an adult, I lost any respect I had for him. Recent revelations of his personal behavior with half a dozen young blonds at a time, were disgusting. That he purchased a crypt next to Marilyn Monroe, so he "could sleep with her forever" is another indicator of the sham values he placed on women.
A self-made man, but a legacy that traded in lives and reputations. Goodbye, Hefner.
That depends on which articles you mean, I revised my post ! LOL https://www.vogue.com/article/10-sur...ayboy-articles

I would love to know what secrets he kept on the rich and famous. Bet a lot of people are hoping no diary shows up. That would be a best seller!
Oh, OK; I get it now.
You're talking about all of that useless extraneous stuff - the words and such that could have just been replaced with more pictures.
I don't know what they were thinking, wasting all of that space.
Imagine my surprise at the age of 12 or 13 when I discovered that women don't have a crease and a couple of staples in their midsections.

I don't know why this surprised me but it did.

I know ! My dad used to buy it for the stories, as if my mother believed him ! I still remember seeing my first centerfold and it was Cynthia Meyers and my pals and I were like OMG! A friend's father had every Playboy from the first one up to sometime in 1991, which is when he passed away. Every copy in mint condition, my friend ended up selling them to a private collector for a considerable sum. I asked him how much, and he said I'm going to Europe for a couple of months !

I have to admit that brought some tears seeing that. My parents are in their mid 90's and are in reasonably good health. But, I see the changes in their capabilities, and my brother and I do our best to keep them comfortable and independent as possible for as long as we can. I use to think when I was younger, that I want to be much older when they go, I'll be able to handle it. Forget it. It's going to be a major impact in your life no matter how old you are.

I have a bunch of stuff still in storage back in my old hometown.
A few months ago I got a call from the manager at the storage place saying that one of my units had been broken into.
Long story short - the lock was cut off and some things were taken; I drove down a filed a police report. They guy apparently didn't like my taste in music - lots of tapes and CD's ranging from 60's stuff onward.
He did take a fancy to the 35-45 Playboy magazines that I had in there dating from the mid 70's to the late 80's\early 90's - there were some classic issues in there.
The cops caught the guy and got most of my stuff back; but not the magazines.
The detective said jokingly (I think he was joking) that even if they had recovered them they likely would have disappeared from the evidence room there at the police station.
Go figure - who would have guessed that burglars or detectives would be such avid readers as to steal all of my old Playboy articles like that?

He wasn't joking. LOL. Years ago my brother brought back an adult movie from the States, 800 Fantasy Lane I believe was the title. Of course border security confiscated it, did not fine him or anything just gave him a warning. He was so pissed, and always said I wonder which one of those guys took it home with them. You know someone did !

I'm sure they did - but it was in their official capacity; had to review the contraband after all.
I occurs to me that I also had about 75 - 100 old National Geographic magazines in that storage unit; most of them from the early 1960's.
They're still there - inferior journalism and photography, no doubt; not worth stealing.

I have to admit........because of being a adolescent in the 1970's.......how do I put this?.........tan lines and trim still does it for me. LOL

ding dong the witch is dead! nasty man died of e coli- no surprise there. Too bad the creepy douche stalked Monroe to the end after trying to destroy her for a buck. No wonder she never wanted to meet the greasy pimp skank.
I told my lawyer he's better step it up or we would both end up on an episode of "SNAPPED"
Perhaps from somebody's emission?
"greasy pimp skank." Now added to my Lexicon.

He hoarded women like how some ladies hoard cats... The Holly Maddison tell all book was pretty interesting
I'd known he hadn't been well, but it still surprised me. Hef was like that person who you just thought would live forever in a way. He's been a part of so many generations (no pun intended...) that it always seemed impossible to imagine life without him.
Actually, I was surprised there wasn't a bigger deal made of his death! Then again, Trump gives us enough news every day, so...
I would never say such a thing, but my tommy Harry just said to me, "Well, if they feature Hef, it's just as well." He's a pretty smart cat.
This made me cry. I’ve been on a rollercoaster with my dad’s health for almost 7 years. I’m young (30) & he’s in his 80s. I’ve kept telling myself it’ll be easier if I’m older too, but it’s not. He should be dead; it’s a true medical miracle he’s not. What you say is so true. I believe we always ‘need’ our parents. End of story.
my heart broke for Hef’s kids. Same for John McCain’s (he died on my birthday) especially Megan. It’s never easy/‘okay.’
