I tear up every time I hear him sing Wichita Lineman, one of my favorites. He was a great entertainer. RIP Sir.

    Very sad.

I grew up listing to him but hadn't heard his stuff in quite a while until recently.
I guess his being in the news got me to look up some of his vids on YouTube.

What a talented guy - I had no idea that he was such an awesome guitarist until I started watching those vids.

His condition during the last few years also got me started pondering more of those questions that we can never empirically find an answer for, such as:
In some cases of cognitive disease or decline, can "we" (our sensibilities) still exist intact somewhere within but we are simply unable to exhibit or express them?
I may create a "things you think about" kind of thread.

    At any rate, RIP Glen.

He had a wonderful and distinctive voice. Alzheimers is always such a sad way to go. Goodbye, Rhinestone Cowboy.

May he rip. I'd like to think of it as a merciful release.

That was exactly what I thought when I heard.

I guess now it's happened, the family will start duking it out even more.

Like many in my generation that came of age in the 60's, I first knew Glen as just a silver-tongued vocalist on the radio. It was on a variety show one night (may have been the Smothers Brothers) that he took a bow after singing 'Wichita Lineman' or one of those gems indelibly connected with him, and the host asked him to play a few chords. Glen picked up a guitar and proceeded to shred it like a pro before a slack-jawed audience that included me out in TV land. All I could think was, "What can't this guy play?" Happy trails, Glen.

I really hated to hear this even though I knew that it was coming - even though you know it, it still hits you in the gut like a baseball bat.

"Rhinestone Cowboy" was a favorite song of Glen's that I enjoyed playing on the piano and I also liked "Gentle On My Mind" (both his version & Elvis Presley's version).

I find it sad on the recent TV series Ken Burns:Country Music on PBS
that the widow of Glen Campbell asked for money for his likeness and
    of course they said no.
So they just showed a old photo of him.
