As for the PM being inconclusive, I wonder if it's gonna be another case of someone giving the crap up, losing their tolerance then thinking they can still manage the same they used to when at their worst and losing the coin toss.

Or so he says. I don't know if it's him or the media revving this up, but the story keeps changing. It's becoming a little suspect IMO. As for the PM I wonder if they are holding back until it's all sorted out. For a guy who claims they were together almost 24\7 bit odd he's asleep in his car on that particular night.

I gotta agree about it getting weirder with every new bit of news that is coming out, more so because it seems to be him telling them everything. If I was in his place and that was my other half who had died, the last thing I would be doing was talking to the press what feels like 24/7. I don't think anybody knew who he was until the news came out yet suddenly he is this superman who kept him from self destructing numerous times.

I think he realized where his life was at - in his 50's - no longer attractive - glory days long gone - physically ill - addicted - depressed - - - done. I think many a former A List star (and B list - and hangers on) felt like he did and had just had enough. One day you have thousands screaming your name ,seeing your face everywhere, media scrums, phoniness, loss of privacy etc. Then its gone or you walk away from it. Fame is fleeting. You have to be quite grounded before, during and after it happens to get out alive.

Tragedy really seems to bring out the Famewhore in some folks.

I'm astounded the amount of people who lose someone, especially a child, and one day later or worse yet, that day, are making the rounds of the morning talk shows.

And as a result of talking to the press, I guess it was only a matter of time that it would come out that he did a couple of hardcore gay films under the name of Issac Mazar. He claims it is not him. I checked, it's him. For anyone going to look... *WARNING* the images are very graphic.

I saw it in one of the papers here in the UK and it was definitely him. They contacted him saying they would give him a chance to say his side of the story about the films but continued to deny it even after they said they did facial recognition etc and it was a 100% match. He would have been better saying it was him but it was in the past. He's just making a rod for his own back now and people are gonna say if he's lying about this what else is he not being truthful about.

I agree, he should have been honest about his past. There are more shocking things going on in the world these days, having done porn should be the least of his worries. If he is going to lie about this what else is he covering up. He's going to back himself into a corner me thinks. I have a feeling he's going to lawyer up soon.

Oh yes, "back in the day" I LOVED cocaine. No way in hell would I do it now. I have high blood pressure now. Doing coke when you have high blood pressure is just asking for a stroke. No way.

I don't have high blood pressure, but I also LOVED coke back when. I have not touched it since I was in my mid forties (62 now) I just found it to tough to bounce back after a weekend bender. I'm thankful and grateful I had enough sense to call it a day.

I wondered the same thing. most of the time the body is released, and the "final" results then come out.

I call bullshit.... Couldn't they have seen that in the original autopsy?
If that was it, why hold the body for months for "tox reports"?

I could be wrong an please correct me if I am, it just sounds like a coinky dink to me...

What would they be hiding and why? I don't know what caused the holdup but from all his years of alcohol and drug abuse, it seems perfectly logical.

In a sudden death like that, they have to do a toxicology screen to make sure there are no drugs in the system or if there are to determine the level and if that was the factor in his death, yes granted they did see when they cut into the heart and the liver that he did have heart disease and fatty liver. In the death industry you have to CYA especially on the famous. (I worked as an M.E. assistant while going to school to become an M.E. but since my break down and being diagnosed with my mental issues I had to give up my dream. Also they do hold the body until the tests are back and the M.E. can sign off on the final cause of death, once that is done they can release the body to the family, also to make sure it wasn't a murder, ie someone slowly poisoning someone to death or putting large amounts of a drug in food or drink.

Thanks for posting that. I knew there were at least one or two people here who had worked with M.E's or as an M.E and knew about this stuff.

Interesting... seems like his history with drugs eventually weakened his heart over time, resulting in dilated cardiomyopathy (the weakening and inability of the heart to pump blood efficiently) and myocarditis (viral infection of the heart), along with the fatty liver (which I'm sure must have limited its ability to properly rid the body of toxins).

Wow, I did a double take when I saw "myocarditis"... that was Andy Gibb's cause of death.

Shejay, that is a great question... I wondered the same thing. Here is some info... some of the symptoms, especially the dilated cardiomyopathy seem to fit what we saw in some of George's last photos... not sure about the myocarditis though, as a mild case may present few or even no symptoms at all:

My mother had heart disease and liver cancer, which is far worse than a fatty one, and the only symptom she had was fatigue to the point I had to walk with her into her dr's office and such. I don't know what physical condition he was in, but sometimes there are no out and out warnings, apparently. Too, he may have been receiving treatment for both.

Great post, pk. I was about to suggest the same thing.

You're welcome everyone, I'll try to answer questions like that when I can. I am hoping one day I can continue going to school and finally getting a job in that field. Sometimes with George's issue, fatty liver and the heart disease there are no symptoms, but in other cases there is bloating of the body, fatigue etc, his conditions were most likely caused by his drug use and possible HIV, if he was positive for it.

I remember reading somewhere that his family and friends called him Yog as it comes from his birth name.

His death seems so low key to me. Maybe because I haven't watched much TV or been online a lot for months (too busy with a podcast kick) but I'm surprised I wasn't more upset about this. I was a HUGE WHAM! fan when I was a kid. WHAM! was the first band T shirt I ever owned. I always thought Andrew was so handsome and thought I might die if I didn't marry him, it was all his pictures from the Teen magazines that went up on my wall, but I did have some of George too. I loved them so much, and they were a huge part of my childhood. I'd say Wham, Dead or Alive, Adam and the Ants and the Pet Shop Boys were like my whole musical world in elementary school, I remember having them all on vinyl (She's So Unusual was the first casette I got, when I got a walkman for Christmas!! Wham was the 2nd tape I bought.

I think a big part of it is many saw it coming along the likes of Amy Winehouse etc. If it had been in his Wham days, there would have been more of an outpouring of grief and shock but now his personal life is well known and we know he isn't the clean cut guy he claimed he was, it's not that much of a surprise. Yes, he had calmed down a little in the last year or so but it was public knowledge he was still taking stuff and with all the freak accidents he had got himself into, many figured it was only a matter of time. I can't find the link at the moment but I read that quite a few papers had him on death watch and the Obit was already done and updated every so often.

I guess I feel sad about it because I hadn't really thought about him in YEARS and then boom he's gone. I am sad to say I didn't really appreciate what an artist he was until after he died and details of his life came out.

I was shocked at his death but not surprised at all. He overcame a lot to become the star that he was and he was proud of what he'd accomplished as he should be.
Like many, I got very tired of what I perceived to be lies. Although I never heard him say he wasn't gay, he tried to project (at least as I saw it) a hetero image. I always thought that was a bit silly of him because clearly, from the first Wham! vid I ever saw, I thought it was quite obvious. NOt to his younger fans maybe but to those of us who were a bit older. In an interview, he said that he thought it was obvious the entire time and the interviewer agreed with him. I thought he was beautiful and very talented. I don't think he lost his looks until the very end, when he had so much bloat in his face. Other than that, I always thought he was beautiful or perhaps it was my memory that recalled him that way.

The event that makes me the most curious was the car 'accident' in 2013 where he 'fell' out of a car going 70mph on the motorway. How does one fall from a Land Rover? I don't know. Land Rovers have a great deal of electric features and much of that wiring and mechanics runs through the doors of the car so they're not likely to have the door pop open. I suppose he wasn't wearing a seat belt. I find it odd though, partly because it seemed not to generate much media interest. I realize that by 2013, George had been out of site for a while, especially in America, but he was a mega star at one time. I've often wondered if that was a suicide attempt and if he threw himself from the car. That would be a hell of a way to suicide but there have worse methods. Of course, there's always a chance that it was well-covered in the media and I missed it. The woman who would have run over him were her reflexes not quick said that she saw him there in the arms of his lover, which would have been Fadi. Kenny came to be with him n the hospital though, as he did when George was so ill with pneumonia.

Sorry, I know this is long but now I have a question. Could the retrovirals given to AIDS patients have also caused his heart disease? I worked in the AIDS field for years but now my memory has failed me. It seems to me that it did.

Regardless, I hope he is with the angels and has the peace that seemed to elude him in this life.

I mean, they say you die twice.
One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.

2016 was his 'Last Christmas' and I'm glad he went peacefully. George was a very talented man and was taken to soon. RIP.

Fadi needs to get the hell out!!! 16 months of living off the estate is plenty of time for him to get on his feet. The family needs some closure and his BS threats are out of control. Go ahead, let him write his book, no true GM fan will buy it.

I still find it weird that he was sleeping in his car the night before GM was found.

Can't say it's a surprise but Fadi has now said he's selling some of George's stuff. He went off on Twitter moaning that he only wanted what he was due and is done being respectful to George and his family.

And he won't get a job. Of course not, freeloaders never work.

I think he messed his career up by not just coming out and saying he was gay instead of hiding it...Elton John, Boy George, they were both suspected or known to be gay when they were popular and when George was caught in LA it essentially ruined his career in the USA. He should have just come out in the early 90's I wouldn't have cared about it and I don't think his fans in the USA would have either. He had so many great songs after he was caught that never were released here in the USA that could have been hits but were big hits overseas.

Honestly, though, I wouldn't be surprised if this is just another ploy for attention and getting his own back on the family. Every time you think he can't stoop any lower, he proves you wrong.

Boy George was saying since at least the mid-80s that George was gay and there were tons of stories about him cottaging here in the UK as well as being caught with men. Quite a lot was kept out of the press but there was still enough that it wasn't that much of a shock to some when it happened as I think most already knew.

In an ideal world yeah, it would have been better if he had been more honest but I can see part of the reason he would have been reluctant. Even today, the record companies don't like ppl admitting they are gay. There is a group from here in the UK called Years and Years and the lead singer Olly is gay. He has been open about it from the start but when they first started, he was told to keep it hidden. He refused stating he wasn't going to lie but it caused some trouble and when it came to him doing songs for the album, there was some trouble because he wanted them to be towards a male perspective. In the end, he was allowed 2 or 3 but even then the references were vague and he isn't the only one who has had to go through this. Then there is the fans. While most don't care, those who have come out often lose fans because they can't deal with the fact the person is gay even though it has nothing to do with their music. You only have to look at what's going on in the world right now to see while people would be reluctant. A few years back, people would keep their opinions to themselves because they knew they would be called out for it, now they don't care and are quite vocal about being homophobic.
